John Hawkins Craig (1763 - 1852) Revolutionary War Veteran, b. 14 Mar 1763, d. 8 Apr 1852; m. Sallie Snelling Craig, 17 Mar 1802, Woodford Co. (b. 1767? d. 30 Nov 1859 age 92); bur. Craig Graveyard, East Bend;

Spotsylvania Co., Va., Father: John Craig; Mother: Sarah "Sally" Page.

The county seat of Boone County is located on a seventy-four acre site donated by John Hawkins Craig and Robert Johnson. The town was originally known as Craig's Camp; but the name was changed to Wilmington. There was another Post Office of that name, so the town was renamed Burlington in 1816.
