CAST BIOGRAPHIES | ||||||||||
RICHARD COMAR: According to sources, Richard Comar is exactly the opposite of his alter-ego, Jack Craddock. He is reported to be orderly, polite, and cultured. He was born in Edmonton, Alberta (yes, he's Canadian!), but he spent his childhood in Ottawa and London, England, but later moved to Montreal, where he lived for many years. He descends from a long line of actors. On his mother's side, there has been an actor in every generation of his family since Shakespere. He attended Sir George Williams University, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts (majored in design, theatre was his minor) He has done stage design and stage management for live theatre, and became involved with such rock and roll groups as Poco, Procol Harem, and Blood, Sweat and Tears. He has also staged ballet and opera performances. In 1979, he decided to focus on acting, and moved to Toronto. Very active in international television and movies, he also maintains a home in Southern California. He and his wife, Leslie, were married in 1983. Like the other two stars, he is fluent in French. An excellent horseman, Comar says that he "was born to play this role", speaking of his Craddock performance. |

JOHN H. BRENNAN: His father is American of Irish descent, his mother is French-Canadian. He was educated in French language schools, and grew up thinking his anglican name was rather peculiar. His original career plans were in Business Administration, which he studied at Concordia University. As the result of a fraternity joke, his name appeared on a casting call list. He tried out for the part, and won it. After leaving the university, he and one of his three brothers formed a company, Jazzmime Productions, to produce special events, from concerts to fashion and trade shows. They directed, choreographed, and occasionally performed in these productions. After his marriage in 1982, he applied to the Banff School of Fine Arts, and was awarded a scholarship. He has also done work on commercials and major shows on the business side of the entertainment industry, which allowed him the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean. His first major role was that of Tony Carlisle on Another World. He lived in New York during this period. He had intended to progress to Broadway, but that did not happen, so he moved to Los Angeles to seek roles in prime time television. It was following this point in his career that he was selected to play Clive Bennett in Bordertown. |

SOPHIE BARJAC: Born in Bourges, France, she spent her early childhood in Paris. At age nine, her family moved to Brussels. At age 15, after posing for a photographer friend of her brother's, she found herself in demand as a model. At age 18, after becoming bored with modeling, she returned to Paris and began acting in French television and theatre. She enjoys performing to a live audience, and prefers to perform in a variety of productions, moving from stage to movies to television. The role of Marie Dumont was her second English-speaking role. She also appeared in the television movie "The Man Who Lived at the Ritz", co-starring with Perry King of "Riptide" fame. It was at this point when she was offered the role of the French widow in Bordertown, a role that would occupy her time for six months each season. The day after she completed filming the movie she was working on, she was boarding a plan for Vancouver, BC. After her arrival in Canada, she brushed up on her riding skills, and two days later, she was in front of the cameras! |
