This page is dedicated to my birds, Boris and Natasha. Boris and Natasha are both Cockatiels. Boris is a normal grey, and Natasha is a pearl. They were named after the two Britsh villains from the show Rocky & Bullwinkle, in case you were curious. I didn't name them, my uncle did. He had them before I did.
I recieved Boris and Natasha as a gift on July 11th 1998. My aunt and uncle could no longer keep them. My uncle had his shift change, so he had to work at nights. That means, he had to sleep during the day. The birds caused too much of a ruckus, so they could not keep them anymore. They called me first, knowing I loved animals. I was already in the process of looking for a bird. I was going to get a Budgerigar (Parakeet). So, of course, I took them.
Boris is a very shy male. He was born in the wild and imported here to America. Wild Cockatiels live in Australia, so that is where he was born. He has a special band on his foot, from when he was imported. He still doesn't trust me to the fullest, but he won't bite me. We have a level of respect for each other. But he is still very shy, and not trustful. But he trusts me more than anyone else.
Natasha is a sweet female. She loves people, and she loves attention. She likes her neck to be scratched. She was born in captivity, so she is much less shy and she loves to be handled.
I have so much love for my birds. I seriously do not know what I would do without them. They are my pride and joy, and they are my first pet besides fish, and I've had them the longest. |
