Colonel James MAYSON b. probably Scotland 1733 died 1799 old Abbeville, left will naming his wife henrietta Hart who survived him and his many children and some grandchildren. James Mayson was a Rev. Soldier, Lt. Col. in the SC Militia, Major in the Regulators, Justice in Newberry, Owned ferries and plantations and a Distillery in Abbeville. I am looking for information on the Starnes Surname. I am from Ninety Six,SC and most of the information on the family is around this town (inbetween Columbia and Greenville SC). We did have a George Waldrop Starnes that left for Texas in the late 1800s. Frank Dance JOHNSON

I am looking for information on my grandfather O.B. (Obie?) Johnson. He was born around 1902 or 1903 in Georgia. Married Madge Burdette of Anderson County 23 Dec 1923. James Shockley BATES (b.c.1811 SC-d.1882 Athens, Clarke Co, GA) md. 5 times and had about 16 children. 1st wife was Miss FORRESTER-they md. about 1827 in SC (even though it is believed they already lived in GA at the time). She died before 1844. Their children: Samuel A, William E., Sarah Adeline, John, James Charlton (b.1839 Franklin Co, GA). They lived in Franklin Co in 1839-1853, then Hart Co, GA from 1853-after 1870, then Newton Co, GA in 1880, then Clarke Co, GA in 1882. Many children born later moved to Alabama. WILSON -- In GREENWOOD COUNTY SKETCHES, page 424/425, details the family of James Wilson, 1753/1812. It reports he married Tabitha Beal, and had a family of six children. One of those children being William Wilson, born 1783 who married Charlotte Higgins and had two children, James and Sarah Ann Wilson. - This last James -- was he born abt 1806, marry a Sarah (Nelson?). Were they in AL by 1831, in MS by 1845, and in Navarro Co., TX by 1852. James died in Navarro Co. in 1861, Sarah in 1864 and are buried in the Wilson Cemetery at Rural Shade. I am looking for information on these families. John Albert Teasley Sr. married Mary Cathline Elrod (1800's). He was married to her sister first, and she died leaving behind between 17-22 children. Between John and Mary they had two children, John Albert Teasley Jr. and John Patrick Burt Teasley. John Albert Teasley Jr. married Florence Stewart/Stuart. They had several children, one by the name of Roy Franklin Teasley Sr. who married Jannie Inez Fisher. Jannie's Father's name was William Fisher. Her Mother's name was Hattie Ramage. Everyone listed was born in the late 1800's except for Roy Franklin Teasley and Jannie Inez Fisher who were born in the early 1900's.
