What Is the Dan Bradley Big Band?
The Dan Bradley Big Band is an elegant 10 piece group in the big band style. We specialize in the sounds of the Big Bands but we keep current with much of the current popular music. All of the musicians are professionals. We want to keep the people dancing and playing good music. We share the jazz tradition.  Ten of the best musicians available. (Maybe the better title would be The Dan Bradley Orchestra; but we wanted to tip our hats to the great musicians of the Swing Era.). We have 2 trumpets, 2 saxes, 1 trombone, piano, bass, guitar and drums, 3 of the musicians are also featured vocalists. Smaller size ensembles are possible from solo piano (Dan himself), or guitar duo (our own Jay Benson), Trios and whatever your mix we will try to accomodate you. We are located near Milford, PA. It is on the northeastern edge of Pennsylvania.  We are only 5 miles from the New York, and New Jersey state lines. Thirty miles to the North are the Catskills. Thirty miles to our South are the Poconos. To the east are the suburbs of New Jersey.  New York City and most of Connecticut are a little more than an hour's drive.
Meet the Band
Just a short introduction to the gal and the guys: My wife Marilyn Bradley is the featured vocalist. She has a versatile alto voice in the legit style of Streisand, the blues style Billie Holiday and the vocal styles of the great big band female singers.   As for myself, Dan Bradley, I am the pianist, arranger, conductor, the "buck stops here person" etc. I have a conservatory training in music (BM & MM ed) and for my day job I'm also a music teacher. I have been performing professionally (almost every weekend) for the past 20 years. Three other music teachers are our trumpeter Rich Dispenziere, our drummer and lead male vocalist Larry Balestra, and our lead alto saxman Roger Ericson. Jay Benson is the newest addition to our band. Jay is a virtuoso jazz and blues vocalist and guitarist. Jay has worked with some of the finest musicians in the world. Also in our band we have some distingushed veterans of the big band era, these are; Jim Wegrzyn on (Upright) double bass, Dick Murphy on cornet, Scott Chamberlain on trombone, and our tenor saxophonist Frank Petroceli. Our repertoire features the great music of Glenn Miller, Ellington, Dorsey and Goodman. We are constantly incorporating new quality music for dancers of all ages. Our goal is to get as many age groups up dancing, laughing and having fun as possible. Marilyn and I studied ballroom dancing so we are sensitive to the needs of dancers. In conclusion if you want quality, variety and professional musicians please give us a try.
