Welcome aboard! This is the 'Final Fantasy III bandwagon', glad you decided to jump on. Anyway, this is the section where you can actually get Final Fantasy III on your computer... First read this disclaimer-type information:
While the laws prohibiting the exchange of Super Nintendo ROMs are rarely enforced, they are still out there. Download at your own risk; I will not be held legally responsible.
Final Fantasy III
1) Make sure you have WinZip, or some other application that can open ZIP files. Shouldn't be a problem if you have a relatively current computer; most of them come with this application these days.
2) Download ZSNES. Click to download the ZIP file or the EXE file. Again, this is totally free, and is useful for playing any Super Nintendo or Super Famicom ROM that you can find. I definitely recommend having it for a rainy day.
3) Download Final Fantasy III.
4) Enjoy the world's greatest RPG by opening ZSNES and navigating it to the zipped ROM file (see the FAQ page for a control guide).
Other Super Nintendo ROMs
If you've done this with FF3 and you enjoy it, please feel free to try these other recommended games. They're mostly here because it's hard to find working links for ROMs and I don't want you to have to go through that. (The disclaimer still applies to these, and you will need ZSNES.)
Arkanoid
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy II
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Final Fantasy VI - The Day After game demo - This is a sequel to FF6 that was created by Final Fantasy VInce. Sadly, the game project was scrapped, but this is a neat demo. It should take you about 10 minutes to play through. Make sure you check this one out. (You won't need ZSNES to play it.)
Final Fantasy VI: The Day After
FF6: TDA was turned from a game into a series of flash movies, which you can now get right here. I created a mirror site dedicated solely to these clips, but I still can't guarantee you'll be able to watch them all in a single sitting due to bandwith limits. Refresh after an hour or so if you get such an error message. This ongoing saga is quite entertaining, both visually and storywise. Enjoy.
Sorry, but this section is currently down, until I find someone to host these files. You'll have to check them out on Newgrounds.com, or by following the links on the message board. Sorry for the inconvenience.
