Northwest Alabama Brigade Sons of Confederate Veterans Website
Sons of Confederate Veterans are a historical genealogical organization devoted to preserving the true history of the "War of Northern Aggression" and the memory of the Confederate soldier. The "Stars and Bars Camp" #1499 is located in Russellville, Franklin County; "Tennessee Valley Camp" #1368, in Florence; and "Colonel William A. Johnson Camp" #898, in Tuscumbia (among others).

A native of Caswell County, NC commanded a regiment under Washington, and received the admiration of "Light Horse Harry" Lee (father of Gen Lee).
