MOMMA's GIFT
When I touched you, I relived the times
That my mother lived - And she was mine
You're different people - this is true
Yet I couldn't help sensing her in you....
You see, my mother left a void which men
will never fill
Although I try to move ahead - I miss her
even still -
Just because I act the part in keeping up
a front
Sometimes it's hard, cuz memories open all
the doors I've shut
But I know you understand me - Deep within
your heart -
For your spirit is in tune with God and
never will depart
You sense His Presence flow through me -
as I sense His in you
And do not criticize or blame me for substituting
you
For I know well, inside my soul, that Mom
has long since gone
Into the Land of Eternal Day - She sings
a brand new song -
And somehow, I suspect that she has spoken
unto you
Cuz we are joined in one accord - We have
ONE heart, not TWO....
Yes, in God's world, we're all akin - No
strangers are found there
We think the thoughts of Higher Realms -
Our secrets are laid bare -
I'm grafted in, along with you, and Mom
is waiting there
To usher in her brand new friend - the one
with whom I've shared
Your searching, grief, and confusing days
Whether near or far - For you, I've prayed
So, I thank you for your gifts to me
For in touching you? I could also see
And sense the Presence of our Lord
My mother's sweetness, still adored --
You wear a different face, 'tis true
But we're connected - Me and you -
Yes, I will grieve when you depart
To join the loved ones in your heart
I will remain with your daughter, here
To help her cope and withstand fear
For we know best of anyone ---
That you, and Mom, are with God's Son
How grateful I am for your gifts to me ----
Your daughter......And your memory........

PLEASE DON'T CRY OVER
ME
My Baby - Please don't cry over me -
Don't you realize that I can still see
The tears on your cheeks - and the grief
in your eyes?
Because I am suffering and cannot surmise
Just what is happening to me, day to day
But I'm safe with Jesus - He hears when
I pray -
I don't bear the pain that it looks like
to you
It is momentary, forgotten anew ----
Yet often I'm given a glimpse of beyond
To what is awaiting with Jesus, the Son
-
I count not my struggles as anything near
What Christ bore for all those whom He loved
dear
Please, allow me to comfort you in the midst
of YOUR pain
For I will be leaving - While you will remain
-
Your tears are for ME - Your grief, also
too -
But what you are missing is that I cry for
YOU
Because you'll face problems and obstacles
still
Long after I've left here - Yet, within
God's will -
And looking back over your trials, you will
see
My tears had a purpose ---
Please don't cry over me ...........

MY LAST PLEA
We all know I'm leaving - So let's cut to
the chase
I'm glad to be rid of this body and place!!
Do not spend your time in grieving for me
For I went on living despite losses, you
see
When my loved ones departed - I went right
along
Picked up the pieces - and sang a new song
For God Himself loved me and gave me the
way
To strengthen in stature, like HIM, every
day ---
I knew life was precious and I wasted no
time
Focused on others' needs instead of on mine
---
Often I tried to conquer my pain
By giving to others - So, thus, did I gain
I've lived out my lifetime the best way
I knew
God's Love always led me and confidence
grew
In knowing my steps were each ordered of
God
And He would be with me, wherever I trod
---
So I'll ask you, once only, to grant my
last plea
Don't sit by and STARE - For, with Jesus,
I'll be
I will not be lonely, in my bed, on that
day
For God and His Angels will be there ----
To BEAR ME AWAY ........

BEHIND ALL THE LAUGHTER
Behind all the laughter, the smiles and the
grins
Lies pain undescriptive - Seems never to
end -
She goes forth each day with her love for
the world
Never showing how deeply her sorrows unfurled
She notices often the sadness behind
Those whom she visits, who are losing their
minds
She brings joy and laughter to that nursing
home
By being God's instrument - His blood, to
atone -
For each one residing in their own hell
on earth
She brings to them beauty - tells them of
their worth -
And value to Jesus - Always, and ever to
be -
His truest witness of Eternity ---
They laugh and feel better just knowing
she's there
For those thought forgotten - They are grateful
she cares
She doesn't reveal much of the pain she
goes through
She's centered in others - Doing all she
can do
To make their lives better, richer and free
---
Beyond all their suffering - Beyond what
you see -
Behind all the laughter - a heart's beating
still
With unanswered questions - Yet trusting
God's will
She looks towards tomorrow and all it may
bring
The goodness and promises of Jesus, the
King
She longs for God's Heaven and what will
come after
This is the person --- Behind all the laughter......

PALE BLUE EYES
As I look into your pale blue eyes
I see the pain you try hard to disguise
---
Yet to no avail - Because to me
While others are blind - I clearly see
All this decision has taken from you
The many dreams you sought to come true
Still, you go on with twinkling smile
Hiding your tears, just a little while ---
But don't forget there are some who know
How deep the impact - How swift the blow
We take note of your steps, you see
Your mother, your husband, your sons and
me ---
So never feel alone, although this road
intrudes
Upon every dream you had - and heartfelt
pain ensues
For God is mindful of each day - The way
in which you came
And one day, His riches grant - To you,
who bears His Name
Oft times you couldn't see the way you went
So God looked down and His Angels, He sent
To shed light upon your darkened path
And assure you of God's Love - never His
wrath
Standing at these crossroads, soon you find
What mattered once now remains behind ---
What matters most lies just ahead
For Jesus is waiting - Along with your dad
To usher your mother back into her Homeland
Angels and old friends are among those who
stand
Ready to greet her as she comes through
the Gate
For the best things come to those who wait
----
Once touched by the Master, you come forth
changed
Only what's done for Christ will remain
.....
Hold tight to His hand, which some folk
can't see
This is the way that you find yourself free
------
Free from the cares that this world puts
on you
Free from the choices imposed upon you ---
Free from derision, self-doubt and great
grief
As you see through the Saviour, you obtain
sweet relief
And while you must linger along the way
God has promised, by your side, He will
stay
You'll hear Him in whispers - See Him in
the skies
He'll become the twinkle in your pale blue
eyes
One day, all this will become only a dream
Even though the ordeal's been forever, it
seems
God has promised a NEW DAY is coming for
you
I want to be there, when HIS PRESENCE breaks
through.....

A WIRE
It is said that God always brings good out
of bad --
I know this is true - For you're the dearest
friend I've ever had
Our relationship grew by great leaps and
bounds
We bonded in silence - So close - It astounds
Me today - To realize how much has come
forth
Within and without - Affecting my own worth
Ashes and brokenness were all I had left
My self-esteem negligible - Shaken at best
-
Not only returned, but soared far beyond
Any and all dreams I'd ever begun ----
Never would I have expected to find my best
friend
Through the lines of computers, at the other
end
To learn that what I've believed as true
Is a living reality - Since knowing you
----
When God's Love dwells between people (two)
As it obviously does with me and with you
---
There are no barriers, gender or race
No denominations, shame or disgrace
Yes now I know, truly, forever to be ----
Our lives and hearts connected, through
all Eternity --
God's plan started with our mothers - this
is true
But He continued HIS Love, joining me to
you
And though we go forward, without them in
our lives
They live inside our hearts and forever
will survive ---
As we move onward in our commitment to Him
We bring along our lifemates - to sink or
to swim -
Together, we'll face whatever the day brings
The four of us - Envisioning better things
-
Not lingering in the past, but looking ahead
Bonded forever, in HIS Name and Stead ---
Never expecting undeniable change ---
Lives completely altered and rearranged
--
God's Wisdom surpasses all we could desire
He met the needs of our hearts ---
Through using a WIRE.............

THE WALK
Although you must walk this road on your
own
Please try to remember that you're never
alone ---
For I, too, walked this pathway of sorrow
and woe
Leaving my mother at Heaven - then turning
to go
Back from whence I came - Without her beside
Me for companionship, to comfort and guide
---
I felt the winds howling - The darkness
so near -
But I kept walking onward, despite all my
fears
I knew I was leaving Mom to rest in God's
arms
She'd be safe from illness, diseases and
harm ---
No longer would pain control all of her
days
She'd have a new body - At Jesus, she'd
gaze
While I just kept walking this road I'd
once come
Back to my own life - My own race to run
-
I'd delivered my mother to the Gates of
the Lord
And now I must continue to press onward
---
This I found almost impossible to do ---
I know, with God's help, it will be easier
for you
But giving our mothers into God's loving
care
Is difficult at best - and painful to bear
For they dwell with God now - No longer
do we
Touch them and hold them, hear them and
see
Their animated bodies dancing round in our
heads
We've lost all those images - Replaced with
instead
Holes in our hearts - Vacancies in our lives
There is none to comfort - No one to surmise
How devastating losses like these are to
those
Who wanted to keep what they surely must
lose
So, we let our spirits direct us instead
We followed God's will, not ours, as He
said:
'For in losing, you find and in giving,
you gain'
We gave God our treasures: our mothers,
our names
And He gave us mercy and grace for the task
We know that He'll do whatever we ask
When we do so, believing, that He's on our
side
His Spirit takes over - In our hearts, He
resides
We walk on a path which is beaten by years
Its' turns often swift - Igniting our fears
But God walked this path too - When He once
was here
So it's our consolation - This pathway of
tears -
For someday we'll walk on this road once
again
Except, someone else will be guiding our
hands ---
And we'll be received by Jesus above ---
For those on this path walk a trail of pure
love ........
