The Evolutions
by brad x

Jamie King came up with the name(though roy has lately been claiming credit for it), and Roy Oden got 500 pink picks with his name on one side, and the evolutions on the other, so we had to keep the name.  The original lineup was Jamie King-vocals, Roy Oden-guitar, liz smut-bass, and Brad X-drums.  That was in 1999.

One time we went to Kenosha, WI to play in a basement.  We had been promised beer, but when we got there all there was was 3 old styles in the bottom of a giant box, and an empty can of nitrous.  When we played, some guy ran head first into the rock walls, and split his scull completely open.  When the ambulance/cops showed up, they couldn't get down the narrow stairway and had to break a hole through the basement wall to get the stretcher out.  Liz was screaming and crying, we were underage and drunk.  Jamie stole the guys smokes and sweatshirt, and him and roy posed for pictures with the injured guy, who ended up being paralyzed.

Me and Liz moved away to Florida to play in the Smuts, so roy and king were left on their own, and as a 2 piece, recorded and released 3 7" singles.  When I got back from Florida, I started playing drums with them again, then Boner played.  In late '05 I said good day to the Bone doctor.

In summer of 2005 we released a split 7" with France's Fatals.  It sold out in 2 weeks.  About a year later an LP was released on Dutch No Fuckin Chance records.  It was a hit!  So happy to finally have an LP, and we still play and record, although our drummer is currently incarcerated.
