February 5, 2004 "16th Appointment"
Appointment with my OB just to check vitals, weight and blood work for iron.  (I'm no longer including my weight progress on this site;)  The Dr also listened for the heartbeats and had some trouble because they were so active.  She said everything is going VERY well, and that she is going to have her office try to organize the cesarean team to set a date for the big day!  Basically they have to coordinate the schedules of  both my doctors, the hospital, the anesthesiogist, etc.  So we may have a date set sometime next week.  I will now be seeing my OB every two weeks
February 19th, 2004 "17th Appointment"
32 week appointment with my OB to check vitals and weight ;)  The Dr. also listened for the heartbeats again and once again the babies were very active so it was tough to hear.  Everything is going well, she confirmed the date of the c-section as March 30, 2004.
February 20th, 2004 "18th Appointment"
32 week ultrasound to check the growth of the babies and to make sure everything is ok.  Both babies are still breech...they are right next to each other - tete a tete :)  If babies were supposed to be born feet/butt first then they would be perfect examples. The babies' heartrates were strong:  Baby A 136 bpm  Baby B 132 bpm.    Baby A weighed in at 4lbs and Baby B is close behind at 3 lbs 13 ozs.  We looked at a growth curve for babies and the tech showed us that up until this point our babies were growing at an average or above average pace.  However, this week the curve dipped slightly into the smaller range - which she assured us was expected and very normal for twins...and I should be thankful:)  We had her give her opinion on what she thinks their birth weights would be and she guesses around 5 lbs and change.  Sounds good to us!
"Lamaze"  February 28th & 29th 2004
We had 2 - 5 hour lamaze classes this weekend at Valley Hospital where we will be delivering our babies.  While we were exhausted by Sunday evening, we were happy to find that it was time well spent.  We learned a lot and feel that many of our questions were answered.  The first day of class was basically learning about the signs of early labor, breathing techniques and included a tour of the maternity ward of the hospital.  Because we are having twins and are considered high risk, our instructor was able to get us special permission to visit the NICU (special care unit).  We saw a little baby that was just under 4 lbs 8 oz.  Which is about the size of our babies now.  Very cute!  The second day we reviewed breathing techniques, learned about anethesia options, the c-section process and recovery and a little about infant care.  We were very happy with our instructor and quality of the course.
March 2nd, 2004 "19th Appointment"
A quick appointment with my OB to check vitals and weight (just gained one pound this week!!)  She then listened to the babies heartrates and we discussed a bit about the big day.  I will now be going to the OB once a week until delivery which is just 4 weeks away!
Next Appointment....March 11th, 2004  OB and final Ultrasound
