I was on the phone with Carlos when a miracle happened. We discovered the bandname Braindead. Also one night talking to Carlos I remembered that a friend from H.S just departed from his former band. His name was
Christian "Neo" Bustamante. I gave him a call asking if he would like to try playing with us or something, then he said he would let me know. The very next night on a Tuesday, Christian called me back telling me that his former drummer, David Diaz wanted in on the jam. The next day me, Christian, and David played at David's house. "Song 1" was born. Carlos wasn’t present because of the 3 excuses he had. His niece was sick, his father didn’t have money for him, and some other crap. Anyway, afterwards, real practices were held and the official original lineup was complete. Braindead was sort of born, but David and Christian didn’t want it. David wanted Braindead Insomnia, whatever that was, ah well. Afterward trips to the Ultra Sound Rehearsal Studio were made and we had people to see us at the studio, no comments were made. Afterward we met Daly Rentas, the one me and Carlos were going to kill each other for. We wanted her in and David and Christian didn’t, so we had probs. Christian was upset that we didn’t want him to sing alone and David felt that we didn’t want to practice with him anymore. They both left the same day. Afterwards Daly left because she somehow got the idea that we wanted her to be a "death metal chick." So now it went back to me and Carlos, and we still give Daniel hard times.

With the help of the Rhythm option of my Digitech RP100 we were able to record "
December 2000" The unofficial Demo of Braindead was recorded fast due to my sudden vacation to Miami. (Today, we're still looking for the next two members, for female vocals we currently have Lisa Lookas on hold.)

So anyway, we’ve really had little to accomplish up to this date. Just worked on a “solo” for “The Other Side” and traded my RP100 for an RP200.  “Last Song” was created and we hope that it becomes a “hit” of some sort. Other then that, we now have the first official Braindead drum set sold to us for the price of $30 from the very generous Angela DiLorenzo. Kit included the bass drum, snare, tom, hi hat, a ride and some other hardware. Now I begin my “drumming lessons”. Lisa apparently seems to have been faded away and no practices were held with her singing or whatever so therefore she isn’t nor ever was a member. Daly is now back around the area and will be asked to help us out again with the female vocals so we’ll see what happens for that. Also we are currently on the brink of having a supposed permanent drummer again. Her name is Mary Steinback or something like that. We haven’t had a practice yet because of the many times she’s bailed on us. We’re still without a drummer until she wants to really do this with us or until we find someone serious enough to want to do this. Also Chello from local Black/Death Metal Bronx band
Afflitus said he would help us out in recordings for drums and may help us out in drums for a little while as a temporary drummer. No word yet to see if any dates set for anything nor has he officially agreed, but as always, any news will be posted.
