November '01-April 10, '02 On December 13, 2001 at 4 P.M. EST, Chuck Shuldiner of Death/Control Denied lost the fight for his life. Chuck was a very big influence on me and my guitar playing. Chuck you will never be forgotten and I thank you for your music. Good luck to wherever you are. Death: Book 5 Page 16 is where you will find my post on the book of condolences look for Edward "Corpse555" Montejo - Bronx NY, USA 12/19/01 02:20:29 AM. Oh well, so it's been a long time since I updated this bio, sue me. Anyway so much stuff has happened ever since last time, and here are all the details and bla bla bla. We had our first lil' Gig on Saturday December 29, 2001. It was an all new band type thing, we were schedualed to play with Omen Faculty, Lividity, Sub-demize, and Girls In Heat, at Complete Music Studios on December 15, 2001. But Subdemize choose not to play, Girls In Heat pulled out last minute, and Complete Music Studios turned out to be nothin' but a bunch of stupid assholes that don't know how to do buisiness. Well, we found S.I.R. who decided to help us out and everything went swell, or so you think. Bein' in the band BrainDead; the band with the complete, worst luck in the word, we had lost our drummer and had none to play with us. So therefore we needed a drummer, we put on an endless search for 2 months prior to the show and at the end I thought to myself to ask Ronelle of local bronx metal band Afflitus to help us out just for this show. Well anyway, he agreed to play with us for that one night and we had a set of 11 songs to play with him. We started our sessions on December 10 with Ronelle to learn the songs. At around December 27, 2001, I get news tha Ronelle got food poisoned for eatin' a burger at 1 A.M. the previous night. So bein' that it was like 2 days before the show, we agreed to no more practices and decided to just keep our set with only the 5 songs that we got done in all that time even though we were headlinin' that night. Anyway the big day came, and what was supposed to be one of the most excitin' days of this band, we had no drummer. WE HAD NO FUCKIN' DRUMMER BECAUSE OF THE 1 A.M. BURGER. With stress, anger, and feelings of butterflies in our stocmach we just decided to take our axes and head over anyway. Very big and special thanks to Tony of fellow band Omen Faculty to play drums on our songs with us. Even though he never heard anything from us in his entire life, we had a nice lil' mosh pit and we played all of our songs at the time about 13 or so. We were on stage for 1 hour and 20 mins and played more songs than we did with Ronelle, they weren't perfect, but we totally appreciate the people that stood with us. Anyway after that we did our 2nd lil' show the first half of The Valentine's Jam on February 9, 2002. We were asked to headline that show, for this we used our first drummer David Diaz and it was at Funkadelic Studios, again another lil' mosh pit and we all had fun. The 2nd half of The Valentine's Jam wasn't good at all, fights broke out before we got our set goin' so bassically we were playin' for a crowd of 10 people, but it went swell, our drummer for this one David Diaz decided not to show 'cause he didn't feel like goin' so we used Tony of Omen Faculty again. Currently we are gonna be recordin' a demo with the drum works of Sam Qussous from Extreme Metal band Ennihilate. We are very thankful for that favor and hope that our Chokeslam demo goes swell and that no one gets hurt or killed. That's all I think is new, I don't know. Big major THANKS for all that have supported BrainDead even with our fucked up luck. |
