Chapter Twenty-Six
“Wedding Bells”

JC was sure he was going to need to wham his head against the wall by the time the day was over.  Justin was practically driving him insane because he wasn’t allowed to see Nick until the wedding.

“Why can’t I just go over there and make sure he’s ok. I mean I’m sure he’s totally freaking out.”

“Like you?”  JC said pinching his nose to try and will the headache away.

Justin’s response was to flip JC off and stop off to the guest room to start getting ready.

“How the hell am I going to survive the next…” Pausing to look down at his watch.  “Five hours.”  JC grumbled.

Meanwhile at Nick and Justin’s house, Brian was despretly trying to get Nick to calm down.

“Would you please calm down.” The older man begged his friend.

Pacing the living room floor Nick shook his head.  “Calm down? You expect me to calm down?  I’m getting married today, you know Married!” he exclaimed.

“I know what it means to get married, I’ve done it remember.” Brian said laughing, finding his friend a little amusing, in an annoying sort of way.

“Why can’t I go and see him.  I need to see him.”

Shaking his head Brian held onto Nick’s arms and steered him towards the stairs.  “What you need to do, is to go upstairs and take a shower. Put on your tux and then we will get you married.”

With a little push Nick was stumbling up the stairs.

“HOWARD!”
Howie came running into the bedroom with soap and water dripping off of his body.  “What, what’s wrong?”

Vanessa was lying back on the bed trying to button up the dress pants she had bought for the wedding.  “I can’t get my freaking pants to fit!  I just bought these two weeks ago, and now they won’t even button!”

Taking a deep breath Howie walked over to Vanessa and gave her a soft kiss on the head.  “Honey, just wear those black pants you were wearing two days ago, we washed them.”

Shaking her head Vanessa sucked in a deep breath and once again tried to button the pants.  When it was no use she relaxed on the bed and started to cry.  “This is ridiculous, I’m only a little over a month pregnant and I’m already getting fat!.” Turning to look at Howie she sniffled.  “Am I just getting fat or is this because I’m pregnant?”

Howie thought about that for a second, he didn’t think women started to show this quickly but then again everybody is different.  “It’s the baby honey, its showing us that he or she is growing and getting ready for us to see him or her in just a few short months.”

Smiling, obviously like the answer, Vanessa leaned in and kissed Howie on the lips.  “Love you.”

“I love you too.” He said before getting up and going back to finish his shower.

“Is everything all set for the reception?” Kristin asked Leighanne as they walked into the church where the wedding was being held.

Leighanne nodded. “Yup, I called everybody this morning just to make sure.  The sandwich platters will be there half an hour before us, the flowers are being set up as we speak and the cake should be there around the same time as the sandwiches.”

Content at that answer Kristin nodded and walked to try and find the perfect seat to sit in the large almost gothic looking church.  At first nobody understood why the guys had picked this particular church, but after some explaining they found out that it had something to do with a dream both men had, had back at the beginning of their relationship.

“Hailie get back here!”  Marshall yelled at the seven year old who was running away from her daddy who was trying to put a large blue bow in her hair.

“I’m not wearing that, its ugly.”  She exclaimed as she tried to hide behind of the wooden pews.

The guests who were there already, watched on in amazement as Marshall continued to chase the little girl around the church and back out to the lobby area.

Vanessa and Howie walked in just in time to see the activity.  “What was that all about?” She asked sitting down next to Kristin.

“From what I understood she didn’t want to wear the blue bow that goes to her dress.” Kristin said laughing, causing everybody else to start up laughing again.

Now at the church Justin was even worse then he was before.  Now pacing the small room like a caged animal, trying to remember his vows.  “Nick…I’ve loved you since…” he triled off when somebody knocked on the door.  “Come in.”

Joey walked into the room and smiled.  “Hey little bro, you doing ok in here?” he asked, knowing that was a stupid question.

Justin looked at Joey like he was absolutely nuts.  “I think I’m about to either fucking piss my pants or throw up on my tux.”

“Well, isn’t that just graphic and gross.” Joey said laughing.  “Try to keep you’re bodily functions under control for a few more minutes and then you will go out there, get married and then it wont matter if you throw up on your tux.”

This caused Justin to laugh and smile.  “Thanks Joe, I guess I needed that.”
“You’re going to be fine, Jup.  Nick loves you, you love Nick, what could go wrong?”

Justin got a panicked look on his face.  “I could forget my vows, or trip and fall walking down the isle.”

Rolling his eyes Joey gave Justin a soft pat on the back before walking to the door.  “Well, I’ve got to go take my place; you can go back to wearing a whole in the rug now.”

Once Joey was gone Justin did just that.

On the other side of the church Nick was busy freaking out in his own way.  “Die sucker, die!” he yelled at his game boy®

“Who in the world are you talking to?” Kevin asks as he walks into the room, looking at his younger friend like he was insane.

Not looking up from his game.  “I’m not talking to anybody, but I’m trying to beat this level.”

Rolling his eyes Kevin sat down next to Nick on the couch.  “You’re twenty three years old, about to get married and here you are playing video games.”

“So what, it’s helping me relax.”

“At least he’s not pacing around like a crazy person.” Brian says as he comes into the room.  “You didn’t see him earlier.”

“I have a feeling it’s a good thing I didn’t.”  Kevin mumbled to himself.

Stephanie walked into the huge church, looking around for her cousin.  The only people who knew she was coming was NSYNC so she was happy to be able to surprise her cousin and friend.  Spotting her she walked towards the pew to see Howie rubbing Vanessa’s thigh gently.

“Hey there perv, get your hands off my cousin.”

Vanessa turned to see Stephanie and jumped up.  “What in the world are you doing here!” she exclaimed as he gave her cousin a big hug.

“I wanted to surprise you.”  Stephanie says, sitting down between her and Howie, which put her in the position to get a dirty look from Howie.  “Oh don’t give me that look Dorough, you get to see her every day, me on the other hand live in a different country, so give me a break.

Howie raised an eyebrow at Vanessa to see her wink before turning back to Stephanie who was rambling off about how much she hated the Detroit airport.

AJ waddled his way over to where the rest of his friends were sitting.

“What is the little pillow for?” Howie asks, pointing at the little white pillow in AJ’s hands.

Blushing a little AJ put the pillow on the pew and sat down on it.  “It’s my tooshy pillow, these pews are too hard on my ass.”

This causes everybody to bust up laughing, but they are intrupted when Joey walks up to them with a beautiful read headed woman.  She was medium build, had the most amazing sapphire eyes.  The pale skin made the red hair stand out like fire, but that was made her so beautiful.

“Who’s your friend?” Vanessa asks, smiling at the woman.

“Sarah, I would like you to meet everybody.  Everybody this is Sarah.” Joey introduces everybody.

Sarah smiles and waves.  “Hey everybody.”

Marshall walks over with Hailie in his arms.  “I just talked to Kevin, he says things should be starting in ten minutes or so.”

Hailie looked at Sarah.  “Whoa, who’s the hottie?”

Once again the group of friends were cracking up laughing.

Like Marshall had said everybody began to take their places ten minutes later.  Kevin and Brian stood off to the side with Nick, while Joey and JC stood across from them.

When music started to play everybody turned to look down the isle.  There Hailie was making her way throwing blue rose petles as she made her way up the long isle way.  When she almost tripped on her dress going up the stairs everybody in the church flinched, but she was ok and took her space between Kevin and Brian.

Then the wedding march started playing and everybody stood up and looked towards the back of the church.  There Justin stood dressed in a tux with a white jacket, black pants and shirt with a matching white bow tie.

Slowly he walked down the isle towards Nick who was watching with wide eyes.  Neither man could believe this was happening.

Once Justin was up the stairs, Nick took his arm and turned to the minister.

“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join these two men with a bond of commitment.  Both men have their own vows so I would like Nick to go first please.”

Taking a deep breath Nick turned to Justin, their hands still linked together.   “When we started dating a year and a half ago, I was sure life couldn’t have gotten any better.  I was perfectly content to just be you’re boyfriend.  Then almost a year ago our lives changed for the better.  We got the opportunity to have our own child.  It was then that I knew it wasn’t enough to just be you’re boyfriend. I knew I needed you in my life for the rest of my life.  It still isn’t legal here in Michigan for us to get married, but I promise you that my bond to you is just a strong.  No legal document will make it any stronger. I love you Justin Randell Timberlake. “

By the time Nick was done, both men had tears streaming down their cheeks.

“Make me go last so I’m all teary eyed.” Justin said laughing, whipping his eyes, causing everybody in the church to laugh.

“For years we were told that NSYNC and Backstreet weren’t allowed to like each other.  We were always fighting for spots on music charts so that meant we weren’t supposed to be friends.  Well, we didn’t follow the rules and became friends almost five years ago.  I will always remember that party and you got yourself locked in the bathroom stall.”  Justin paused as everybody laughed, and Nick blushed bright red.  “After that you couldn’t separate us, but nobody knew it. Since at the time both our groups were doing so well we hid the fact we were friends.  Then before we knew it we were hiding the fact we were lovers.  Loving you has been the best thing I’ve done in my life. Now here I am making my love permanent.  I will never leave you, you’re my one and only. Nicky you are my life and I love you with more then anything I have.”

Letting the men have a few seconds to compose themselves the minister turned to Kevin.  “May I have the rings?”

Kevin got the rings out of his pocket and handed them to Justin and Nick.

“Nick would you put the ring on Justin’s finger and repeat after me.  With this ring, I thee wed.”

Nick slipped the finger on Justin’s hand, looking him right in the eyes.  “With this ring, I thee wed.”

“Now Justin, would you please put the ring on Nick’s finger. And repeat after me.  With this ring, I thee wed.”

Justin took Nick’s hand gently in his and slipped the ring on his finger.  “With this ring, I thee wed.”

The minister smiled at both men.  “By the power invested in me and you’re friends and family here, I now pronounce you Justin Timberlake and Nickolas Carter partners for life.”

“Uncle Kevin, isn’t this when they kiss?” Hailie asked Kevin loud enough for everybody to year.

Laughing the minister nodded.  “You heard the young lady, this is when you’re supposed to kiss.”

Nick smiled and leaned into Justin and they shared a tender kiss.

“Let’s talk about sex baby, let’s talk about you and me…” Aaron sang as he danced around grabbing nuts and popping them into his mouth.

“Why are you singing that song for?”  Brian asked as he came up behind Aaron, grabbing a few nuts out of the dish.

Aaron shrugged as he grabbed a bottle of water and began to chug it.  “No reason.” He said his eyes looking everywhere else in the room besides at Brian.  Then he spotted Vanessa walking towards a table to sit down. Seeing that Howie was busy talking to Nick he left Brian to go walk to her.

“Aaron, dance with me?”  Hailie asked, running up to her crush.

Ignoring Hailie he continued to walk.

Hailie looked at Aaron, pouting. “Aaron, dance with me?” she asked again.

This time Aaron stopped and turned to look at the seven year old.  “Would you just shut up and leave me alone, I don’t want to dance with you!” he exclaimed before walking off to find Vanessa again, who had moved when he was busy talking to Hailie.

Hailie stood in her spot tears pooling in her eyes.

Finding Vanessa over by the punch bowl Aaron walked up behind her.  “Want to dance?” he whispered in her ear.

Vanessa tried to ignore the sexual tone behind Aaron’s words and turned around to face the teenager.  “Sure.”

Smiling wide Aaron grabbed Vanessa’s hand as  the old BSB song ‘If You want it to be good girl(get yourself a bad boy)’ started playing.

“This is a really old song.” Aaron said laughing as he started to grind against Vanessa.

Vanessa just nodded, trying to figure out what was going on.

Aaron’s hands started to trail down to rest on Vanessa’s ass as he continued to grind against her.

That was all Vanessa could take and backed away from Aaron a little.  “Okay, a little more space.” She said to the younger man.

Aaron looked at Vanessa and tried to move closer to her again.  “What’s wrong am I squishing our baby?”

Thankfully Vanessa didn’t have to answer the question because the song ended and Kevin came on the mic to say it was time to cut the cake.  When she pulled away she tried to ignore what Aaron had just said about the baby, and went over to where the cake was being served.

From across the room Howie watched as Aaron danced with Vanessa.  The whole time using all his will power to not rush over there and punch the boy. He had to trust Vanessa, he didn’t want her to think he didn’t trust her.  Taking a deep breath he walked over to join her with everybody else around the cake.

Sarah walked up behind Vanessa.  “Looks like Mini Nick likes you.”

Vanessa turns around and smiles at the girl.  “I’m not sure what is going on with him, he’s a good kid though.”

Sarah nodded and took a bit of her cake.  “I’m not sure I got you’re name. When Joe introduced us he just said everybody, but I can’t go around calling you everybody.”

Laughing Vanessa smiled.  “I’m Vanessa.  Howie’s fiancé.”

“Yeah, that’s what I thought.”  Sarah said before she heard Joey calling her. “Guess I better go, nice meeting you.”

“You too.” Vanessa called after the newest member of the ‘girl clan’.

Once Sarah was gone Howie came over and whispered in Vanessa’s ear. “Want to dance?”

Feeling a big case of daja vous Vanessa tenses up.  “I’m eating cake, cant really dance while eating cake.” She says, trying to hide the fact that she got tense even though she knew who it was.

Pulling back Howie turned Vanessa to look at him. “Are you ok?”

Putting on  a fake smile she nodded.  “Sure, I’m fine.  This cake is really great isn’t it?”

Shaking his head.  “I don’t care about the cake, I care about you.  Did he hurt you?”

Vanessa put on an innocent face and pretended she didn’t know what Howie was talking about.  “Did who hurt me?”

“Don’t play stupid with me, I saw what he did.  I’m trying not to get angry, but you’re not making it easier when you wont tell me you’re fine.”

“I told you I was fine.”

Shaking his head Howie pulled Vanessa in for a hug.  “Just be careful please, something isn’t right with him and I don’t want to see either of you getting hurt.”

Smiling Vanessa hugs Howie back tightly.  Looking over Howie’s shoulder she spots Aaron standing in the corner putting something to his nose and sniff it.  Closing her eyes again he just pretends she didn’t see it.
