"As in the days of Noah..."

Jesus said that the days of His return would be "as in the days on Noah." I have long been persuaded that there is much more meaning there than usually thought, including possibly timing. That is why I am especially intrugued by Ron Reese's discovery that there may be a parallel between the 7 (millennial) days of history (7,000 years), in which Noah's flood occurred in Day Two (1656 years after Adam), and a comparable length of time in the last 7 years (70th week of Daniel), or 1.656 years into the final 7 years.

Ron says:

                  The flood
                   1656 yrs.
Adam________|________________________7000 yrs.
                             years

(1656 years is to 7000 years as 1.656 years is to 7 years)

Ron believes the final 7 years (or 70th week of Daniel) began with the "confirming" of the Oslo covent on 10/23/98:

                    6/10/00
10/23/98______|__________________________7 yrs.
               (1.656 yrs. of 7)

He expects a "flood-like event" to occur on or about June 9-10 2000 (Pentecost) which, to the day, is 1.656 years from the signing of the Wye Agreement, confirming Oslo. (And guess who was there "confirming" the covenent between the Israeli and PLO leaders?)

If Ron's conviction about 10/23/98 is true, and if a flood-like event will occur, could it be God's judgment? Or the rapture? That is the first impression of most. However, there is another possibility.

Many people are seeing and believing for a major outpouring of the Holy Spirit prior to judgment and the rapture. And Isaiah speaks of a flood-like event in the last days. It is this: "The earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the WATERS cover the sea" (Isaiah 11:9). It is a flood of the knowledge of the Lord. The context is the end times, when Jesus returns, and "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb" (v.6). The context is also about the remaining scattered Jews returning to the land: "... (Messiah) shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth" (v.12). Is this only AFTER the Second Coming, or does it overlap with the final years?

There are several possible scenarios. One may be that it is possible that this "flood-like event" might be a final release of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost 2000, to complete the harvest that He began on that first Pentecost, just prior to the rapture, possibly days, weeks or months later. God is doing a very quick work. He seems to be compressing time. By His Spirit, He can do it a day what man can do in a year or more.

If Pentecost 2000 is not the rapture, which many people believe for reasons other than Ron's, then it may be a flood of judgment and/or a flood of the knowledge of the Lord according to Isaiah 11:9. OR -- IT COULD BE ALL THREE, ALMOST SIMULTANEOUSLY!!!

There are many reasons why this is a time to be expectant. I have no doubt that we are seeing the final seconds of God's countdown clock. It is exciting to see what may happen next.
