Assad's death -- and a voice!

As everyone no doubt already knows, on Saturday, June 10, 2000, Syrian President Hafez Al-Assad, probably Israel's chief enemy, died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 69.

God's timing is amazing. I don't know why it didn't register on me, but a friend had to remind me that Assad died on the anniversary of the end of the miraculous 1967 Six-Day War. She also reminded me that Assad was the last to die of the leaders of the three nations, Egypt, Jordan and Syria, who warred against Israel in that year. June 10, 2000 was truly the end of an era for the enemies of Israel, God's time clock -- and beginning of another era.

I did some search on the Internet and discovered some amazing wording. In what seems to be a divinely directed irony and "God-incidence," Assad died on the very same day, June 10, that Syria surrendered to Israel and lost the Golan Heights. Here are words copied from a Web site about the Six-Day war: "June 10: Syria surrenders, after seeing Golan Heights come under Israeli control" (http://www.i-cias.com/e.o/sixdaywr.htm). As far as I know, the media news people have totally missed or ignored this fascinating connection. Most are also ignoring the fact that Assad was a bloodthirsty tyrant, probably because he was an Arab and a Muslim, whom the Western media treat gently because of petro-dollar interests.

Also:

1. Assad died exactly 33 years after Syria's 1967 surrender, the number of years Jesus lived on earth.

2. Assad died on a prophetically important Pentecost.

3. Assad died in the Jubilee year (50th anniversary) of Israel declaring Jerusalem its capital in 1950.

4. Assad died during what scholars calculate as the 6,000th or 6,001st year since Adam, and the 2,000th year since Jesus' birth.

As you know, the 1967 Six-Day War in which Israel liberated Jerusalem and defeated Egypt, Syria and Jordan is a fulfillment or at least partial fulfillment of Luke 21:24 and the beginning of the last days generation, or the beginning of the final days. Also, my friend pointed out that Assad died at age 69, possibly symbolic that the world has entered, or is about to enter, the 70th week of Daniel. (God's sovereignty over events is truly amazing!)

On Sunday morning, June 11, 2000, as I was showering and getting ready for church, I was heavily pondering the profundity of this event over the Pentecost weekend and its possible prophetic implication. Then suddenly, as I stepped out of the shower, I actually heard a strong, authoritative and clearly audible voice say, "THESE ARE THE FINAL DAYS. THE END IS NEAR!"

My spirit leaped! Now, I must admit that the words did not come from the sky but from my little bathroom radio. The words were from a furniture store sales commercial. However, hear me, I had never heard that commercial before -- never -- plus the timing was amazing, just as I was meditating on the subject. Had the words come just seconds earlier I would have totally missed it because of the noise of the water. I sensed the words were from God to me, and now to you. Years ago the Lord spoke to me very clearly through a secular radio station, confirming something critically important to me on that very day.

In view of the sudden death of the last of the three major leaders to war against Israel, and, irony or ironies, on the exact anniversary of his defeat in the greatly prophetic 1967 war, and 33 years later, I personally and strongly suspect that, indeed, "THESE ARE THE FINAL DAYS. THE END IS NEAR!"
