Special Jerusalem Report

October 30, 2000

Special reports from Israel are coming in daily and it is not feasible to post them all.  This one from Barbara Richmond, however, seems especially worthy

Shalom to you this Monday. It has been another difficult
day in Israel. A 30 year old Israeli resident of Gilo was
found stabbed and shot to death. Two security guards
working in Jerusalem were shot by Palestinian gunmen; one
died and the other is in critical condition. More fierce
outbreaks are going on even now in the West Bank and Gaza.
A bomb exploded near a bus but thankfully no one was hurt.

By phone this morning from Israel came this report. There
is increasing turmoil in Syria as mobs demonstrate, calling
for war against Israel. Hizbollah, the Syrian backed
terrorist group, is massing at the Lebanese border,
preparing to attack northern Israeli towns. Residents have
been warned to make all necessary preparations. A good
friend of ours, Bob Fischer, author of the book "The
Messianic Seal of the Jerusalem Church" and "The Children
of God", both seen on our website, told us this morning
that he was going to a meeting of his neighborhood
community today where they would decide whether to evacuate
the entire neighborhood in view of imminent attacks from
Lebanon.

Why is none of this on our news??? Good question!!!
I've been told that our media is "tired" of reporting
Middle East news and finds the election and the World
Series of more interest. Israel today filed a formal
complaint against the international media coverage which
has been biased and innaccurate.

The Israeli Knesset (Parliament) reconvened today for what
promised to be very stormy sessions to determine what
Israel's next moves should be. Pray for wisdom and
direction for these men and women to make the right
decisions. Pray that a strong voice will arise in the
Knesset that will stand firm for biblical principles.

Meanwhile, earlier this morning I was mulling over some
information that has come to me and asking the Lord whether
or not I should include it in this update. About an hour
ago a call from a trusted friend, who had no idea what I
was praying about, encouraged me to do so. Here it is...
There have been several very strong prophetic words in the
last few weeks from trusted and proven prophetic voices
indicating that very difficult days are coming to the
United States very soon. It is imperative to understand
that when these warnings come, our attitude towards them is
very important. We must not be like those in Noah's day
who ridiculed the message but rather be sober for the
purpose of prayer. Biblically, there were times that
warnings like these were issued and prayer turned the tide,
averting the disasters. Other times prayer prepared the
saints to rise up and be the powerful vessels of the Lord
that are needed in times of crisis and tragedy. In either
case, the prayer is ESSENTIAL. Beloved, this is not the
time for "business as usual." With the election in the US
just days away, with prophetic words issuing such warnings,
with repeated threats of major terrorist attacks coming to
our own country, this is the hour to put aside the "ruffles
and frills" of life for the purpose of prayer and fasting.

May the Lord guide you as you consider what I have written.
