David Wilkerson says...
Reverend David Wilkerson, inner city pastor and author of the classic book (made into a movie), "The Cross and the Switchblade," is one of the most respected preachers in America. He says he is not a prophet but he seems to have a prophet's anointing. In a vision in the 1970s, I believe, he saw the future in America, which seemed unbelievable at the time, but much of which has already come to pass.
Here is an excerpt from his latest newsletter, written April 15, 2000:
"...I am not a prophet. I am but one of the Lord's many watchmen. I love this country, but according to Scripture, America has committed a grievous sin that God will not forgive, and which he must soon judge.
"History is repeating itself. King Manasseh 'filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, which the Lord would not pardon' (2 Kings 24:4). This king led Israel into child sacrifices, and multitudes of innocent children were slaughtered. God swore that he would not forgive that sin, and he would judge the whole nation for such crimes. A long spiritual revival preceded the judgment - but in spite of the spiritual awakening, God said he would not forgive the shedding of innocent blood.
"GOD WILL NOT PARDON A NATION FOR THE SHEDDING OF INNOCENT BLOOD.
AMERICA STANDS ON THE BRINK OF A GREAT CHASTISEMENT FOR THE KILLING OF MILLIONS OF
INNOCENT CHILDREN. GOD HAS A CONTROVERSY WITH US." (Wilkerson's emphasis
with all-caps.)
I sensed the same thing about five years ago when I first wrote a report titled "God's Judgment on America," which I believe is still accurate. Many people are praying for revival in the nation and the world. The prayers are being heard, and they are already being answered. A great harvest is in process, and God is touching the hearts of many of His people. However, I do not believe this will appreciably change the secular culture, which is getting worse, nor will it negate or cancel the coming judgment. Reasons for this belief are contained in my article above.
When will the judgment be? I do not know. Actually, it is already in process, seen by the progressive breakdown in morality. God has already given us over to corrupt political leadership and a supporting mass media. But severe judgment is coming, possibly total, as we near the time of Great Tribulation spoken of by Jesus. Wilkerson has previously said and supported with Scripture that prosperity is God's last warning before judgment. We are in the midst of prosperity. Judgment is coming.
But better - Jesus is coming!
