Happy New
Millennium!!!
These are the times about which the prophets spoke!
Jim Bramlett
What an incredible time to be alive!
Do you realize that in all of history since Adam 6,000 years ago there have been only seven generations that have ever lived to see a change in the millennium? We are so privileged! And to think -- indications are that we are generation to see the return of the Second Adam!
The ancient Hebrew prophets spoke about this time, a future time when Israel would be reborn (1948), when Jerusalem would be returned to Israels control (1967), when there would be an explosion of travel and knowledge (latter part of the 20th century), and when the nations of the world would turn against Israel (now). These and others are the prophesied pre-conditions for the promised return of Jesus Christ.
All of this "just happens" to come to a climax now, at the end of 6,000 years of literal Bible chronology (six millennial days), and also 2,000 years (two millennial days) from Christs birth, beginning the "third day," symbolic of resurrection and possibly a fulfillment of Hosea 6:2. (A day to the Lord is as a thousand years.)
The year 5760. A year ago I wrote about Jewish year 5760, suggesting its prophetic significance. Year 5760 overlaps with the year 2000 and also the 6,000th biblical year (with a 240-year error in the modern Jewish calendar). According to the Jewish "civil" calendar, the last day of year 5760 was on September 29, 2000. However, this is tradition and not Scripture. In Exodus 12:2, God gave the Jews a calendar and told them to begin the year in the spring with the month of Nisan (Abib). He has never altered that command. Therefore, the year 5760 may have begun in the spring of 2000 and will continue until the spring of 2001. Further, some Jews claim the modern calendar is not calculated according to Gods instructions to Moses and is about a month off. Calendars are very controversial and experts disagree. We still may be in year 5760.
Oslo: exactly seven years to the day! The Oslo Accords between Israel and the PLO
were signed on September 13, 1993 but were not officially ratified until three days later
in Israel on Tishri 1, 5754, the first day of the year on the civil calendar. The Oslo
Accords no doubt had prophetic significance and many believe it was the "covenant
with death" of Isaiah 28:18. Now, during the renewed violence from the PLO, exactly
seven years to the very day after Oslo was ratified, on Tishri 1 (September 30, 2000,
either still in 5760 or the very first day of 5761), the CNN headline prophetically read: "The
battle for Jerusalem has begun." Some believe Oslo, now dead, began the seven
good years before the seven bad years.
Israeli military intelligence. I have received private input from a senior Israeli
military officer. He said Israel is expecting an Arab attack soon and that there is no
doubt in the Israeli intelligence community that this war will be nuclear at some point,
probably by the third day. He also said he believes America will suffer greatly and Jews
and Christians will both be in danger from persecution of a significant depth to cause
American Jews to literally "run for their lives," with Christians following in
their footsteps.
13th century rabbi prophecy. Some 700 years ago, a Rabbi Simeon prophesied: "When the sixtieth year shall have passed over the threshold of the sixth millennium, the God of heaven will visit the daughter of Jacob with a preliminary remembrance... The children of Ishmael will at the same time rouse all the nations of the world to come to war against Jerusalem to battle (Zechariah 14:2)."
More from Israel. In late November 2000, a Messianic Jewish leader in Israel wrote, "We have entered the prelude to Zechariah chapter 12, if not actually crossed the threshold into its apocalyptic grip with many of its profound predictions seemingly ready to take place in our days "
The world is oblivious. Most of the church is asleep. Most Americans are dancing on the deck of the Titanic. But these are the days spoken of by the prophets...
"Knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed" (Romans 13:11, NKJ).
