"As in the days of Noah"

Dear friends:

Calvin W. Montgomery's October 16 post about Noah, the eighth month and the number 37 was interesting (http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/oct2001/calvinm1016.htm). Oddly, I had shared the below with a few friends just two days earlier, but had not decided to share it with all. However, in light of Calvin's post, I will go ahead and share it:

October 14, 2001 message, updated:

I have never really felt a revelation as to the season of the rapture in terms of feast days, etc., but have been flexible. I am expectant at both the spring and fall feasts, as well as Hanukkah (for interesting reasons) -- as well as everything in between!

However, I have always been moved by Jesus' words that it will be "as in the days of Noah," assuming the rapture is what Matthew 24:37-41 is all about, which I believe. I have always thought there is much, much more to that comparison with Noah's day than most people believe. If I ever had a revelation on the subject, and I am not sure, I would have to say that it relates to the timing of "the days of Noah" and the flood.

One possibility is the DAY the flood came and Noah was lifted up. It was on the 17th day of the second month (Genesis 7:11).

When is the second month? Noah was before Moses, who gave the sacred calendar. Many believe the "civil calendar" was in effect in Noah's day. If true, we are talking about 17 Heshvan. That happens to be this coming November 3, 2001. That MAY be the rapture date. Interestingly, on my Jewish calendar the Torah reading shown for November 3 is Genesis 18:22-24 about Abraham's dialogue with the Lord about the number of righteous people needed before the Lord destroys Sodom; and the Haftorah reading is 2 Kings 4 where Elisha raises the dead child.

(Added note: If BEFORE Moses and "as in the days of Noah," that means the rapture does not have to be on a feast day given by Moses.)

It is also interesting that the rain that began that day lasted for 40 days (7:12). November 3 + 40 days = "the third day" of Hanukkah, December 12, 2001. Or, THAT may be the rapture date. An interesting, in-depth argument for a Hanukkah rapture is at http://www.prairienet.org/guns/dlgs/gog.html.

Also, Noah was 600 years old when he went into the ark. We have just passed the 6,000th year. Let us go into the ark. Anybody ready? C'mon. The door may be about to shut!
