Ezekiel points to 1948

My e-mail/post of July 8, 2001 showed that the numerical puzzle in Ezekiel chapter 4, written over 2,500 years ago, pointed to our generation and the very year modern Israel was born, 1948. Within two minutes of each other, today, in an amazing coincidence (God-incidence), I received two confirmations from two different parts of the world This first one was forwarded to me from England

"I can confirm for Jim the teaching he has worked out for the significance of Israel and the 2520 years. I was taught this at the Word of Life Bible School in Sweden some years back by a visiting teacher/prophet who was the best teacher on End Time prophecy I have ever witnessed. In fact he taught that when the calculation is done properly the time runs out on May 14th 1948 the very day the State of Israel was declared! Indeed our understanding of the times in which we live can only be fully understood when we take Israel into account. The destructive teaching that the church has replaced Israel in God's end time plan actually blinds them to the revelation in our spirits of the "time and the season" we are in right now...."

The other was in a message from an Asian-Pacific country containing a lengthy quote from a seminary professor 10 years ago, which said in part:

"Over 600 years before the birth of Jesus, God used Ezekiel, a contemporary of Daniel, to show Israel her sin. In Ezekiel 43-6, God told the prophet to lie on his side for 430 days to signify the 430 years Israel would spend in exile for her sins. Another contemporary of Daniel's and Ezekiel's, the prophet Jeremiah, predicted that the first 70 years of that 430 years would be a Babylonian exile (Jer 2511). That was Israel's warning period. Sure enough, as predicted, Nebuchadnezzar came along and transported the Jews from Jerusalem to Babylon in 606 B.C. Then 70 years later, Cyrus the Great of Persia (probably Queen Esther's son) conquered Babylon in 536 B.C. and said he would pay for the millions of Jews to go back to Jerusalem. But the Jews refused. Only 50,000 devout Jews went back. The rest didn't want to interrupt their businesses in Babylon (now Iraq). This obviously made God angry, so take 430 years of exile, subtract 70 years of warning, and multiply the remaining 360 years times 7, as Moses instructed in the Torah. You will get 2,520 prophetic years of 360 days each = 907,200 days from the day Cyrus made his decree to return to Jerusalem, which comes out (are you ready for a shock?) to May 14, 1948, the day Israel became a nation."

The rebirth of Israel, the "fig tree" of Matthew 24, on May 14, 1948 was obviously a major signpost on God's prophetic calendar, as no doubt also was 1967 when Israel recaptured Jerusalem. This further emphasizes the profound generation in which we live.
