The Coming Oil And Water Wars

Conventional wisdom tells us that oil and water don't mix. You have only to add a little oil to a glass of water to see that this is true. The oil immediately rushes to the surface. Shake it up in a bottle and, while the oil will swirl around in the water for a few seconds, it will quickly rise to the surface. Numerous accounts in newspapers and on TV, in the last few years, tell us that when a tanker is breached, the oil covers the surface of the sea, or river, for many miles around. No, oil and water don't mix.

But in one sense, oil and water will be mixing during the next few years as supplies of each of these essentials to modern life become dangerously low. The western world cannot possibly keep up its standard of living without oil, but a far worse prospect is trying to live without water. What man, what government, what world body, can help solve this crisis? Let us take a look at the developing crisis.

OIL

We have already seen how the OPEC oil war brought America to her knees in the seventies when they shut off the supplies. However, it was more of a skirmish, to test our defenses, than a war. We have seen it again in the first part of the new millennium as prices sky-rocketed by 50% in the United States and caused riots and strikes in Europe. In fact, in some countries it almost brought down the government. But where did the problem start?

It was all Henry Ford's fault, of course. If he hadn't invented the automobile we would never have needed oil. But today, we are so dependent on our cars that, for most people, life would be inter (?) cut off by radical Islamic Regimes?

The world's first "oil crisis" began, probably, on June 1, 1973, although trouble had been brewing for some time. On that date, eight OPEC nations raised the price of oil by 11.9%. Having gotten away with that one, they tried another tack. On September 13, 1974, OPEC instructed its Secretary General to "carry out a study of supply and demand in relation to possible production controls." So now that they had learned how to raise the price and get away with it, the next step was to reduce the supply and make us more and more desperate for their product. Rather like a drug pusher, they had us fully dependent on their product and were able to reduce the supply to make us willing to pay even more in order to get our "fix."

On January 13, 1975, Henry Kissinger predictably hinted at military action to ensure the free flow of oil in a Business Week interview. But the Western World failed to follow up on the threat and lost its chance to regain control of its destiny. From here on, the OPEC countries were well and truly in the driver's seat (excuse the pun). Between October 28, 1975, and January 1976, four significant events took place: Venezuela, Kuwait, and Iraq all completed nationalization of their oil fields, thus removing all remaining power that foreign oil companies might have over the product; and during that same period President Gerald Ford signed the "Energy Policy and Conservation Act" which allowed, among other things, for a "Strategic Petroleum Reserve." America was finally realizing that she was in trouble.

January 1978 was a very pivotal month for the world. Student riots in Tehran began and soon spread to other parts of the country. Muslim fundamentalists were determined to oust the Shah. He waited very patiently until October before putting the nation under military rule. It was later that year that he asked Jimmy Carter for help. The Shah had been one of America's loyal supporters in the region, and his friendship held many pluses for the United States including help in keeping the oil flowing at reasonable prices, and also having military bases for the U.S. on Iranian soil, and right on the Russian doorstep. But Carter turned his back on our ally and allowed the Iranian people to be enslaved by the most repressive Islamic state anywhere in the world.

It was from this moment and this event that oil prices began to rise at an alarming rate. This capitulation by the Carter regime showed the weakness of his resolve and the pack of dogs came in for the kill. On March 26, 1979, OPEC, seeing that they had the upper hand and that the United States (and Europe) would not fight even for their staunchest ally, raised the price of crude oil by 14.5% effective, quite appropriately, on April Fools Day. In June they did it again and effective July 1, the price went up yet again by 15%. Soon Americans found themselves lining up, sometimes for miles, to buy three gallons of gasoline. Gas-guzzling cars suddenly went out of style, and the country wondered what would happen next.

Encouraged by the weakness of the American government, the Iranian terrorists who had taken over their country took American hostages. America chose to remove Jimmy Carter and elect a strong President named Ronald Reagan. Immediately, the price of oil began to tumble as Reagan took control, not only of America, but of the destiny of the free world.

Prices remained very low until Iraq invaded Kuwait and fears of an all-out Middle East War gave everyone the jitters. The thought of a disruption in future oil supplies caused the price to rise alarmingly in the early nineties only to fall again at the end of the Gulf War.

Fifty consumer and producer nations met in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at the end of November 2000, amid fears that the soaring demand for oil in developing nations, and the likely limited growth in supplies, are likely to trigger severe global energy crises in the coming years. Make no mistake about it, they want that to happen, but not yet. Throughout the world, booming economies are producing a thirst for oil to fill the tanks of automobiles owned by common people in countries where a few years ago they were owned only by the very rich or by government ministers.

World energy demand is expected to double by 2030 and quadruple by the end of the century. Excuse me for mentioning this fact, but there is not even enough energy to go around for the increased consumption expected in the next five years, let alone what is predicted for 2020. But then, 2020 is the latest year in which China expects to be capable of destroying America; and, therefore, the year when world demand for oil will drop. We are in an impossible growth spiral, and that growth will put America more and more, each year, in the clutches of OPEC.

And now they're at it again. U.S. pump prices have risen by 50% in the last year, and there is no sign that they will return to levels of a year ago any time soon. In March 2001 OPEC announced another 10% reduction in the amount of oil they will pump, to force another price rise.

Who is OPEC ? The major nations of OPEC are the Islamic Fundamentalists who hate everything about America. These include Iran and Iraq, of course; the Saudis who are our friends only as long as it suits them; Nigeria, which is also a Muslim country; and Venezuela which is now run by a Marxist and Chinese-friendly government.

In short, America is in a very precarious position with regard to our oil supply.

WATER

In a recent interview in "The Journal of Environmental Science and Technology," Dr Klaus Topfer predicted that a war triggered by water scarcity is very likely. The journal is published by the American Chemical Society and claims 155,000 members. Dr. Topfer is the former Environment Minister of Germany, and he is by no means the only expert sounding the alarm for coming "water wars." There is a great need for conserving water throughout the world, yet we use water as if there is enough to last until eternity.

Even today, 25% of the world's population have no clean water and about one third of the world has no access to proper sanitation. Thirty-one countries are already experiencing severe water shortages. In 25 years from now, that number will have increased to about 48 countries, and those countries will represent about 35% of the world population. What will happen then we can only guess. China, India, and Pakistan are getting close to water shortages and each of them have nuclear weapons. Will they use them to try to take our water? It is estimated that every hour of every day more than six hundred people die from contaminated water or because they could not find water to drink.

Water is already the topic of meetings between a number of countries and tempers are flaring over the issue. Governments are becoming desperate, and there seems to be no real answer. Syrian and Jordanian officials met in Amman in 1998 to try to get an agreement on sharing the waters of the Yarmuk river which forms the border between their two countries. Syria has been accused of taking more than their share, but there is more to it than that. Israel also depends on the same water for its rapidly depleting water supply. Jordan has agreed to allow Israel access in their 1994 peace agreement, but just how long will that be allowed to continue given Syria’s hatred for Israel and lack of concern for Jordan? The Galilee, which serves as a reservoir for most of Israel’s water supply, has been below the danger level for about four years now as the country experiences a severe and prolonged drought. Which country in the Middle East will become the first to be so desperate that they risk war for water?

But the Middle East is not the only area in a water crisis. Many parts of Africa have been there for a long time. South Africa and Namibia appear to be on the verge of conflict over water.

In 1996, CNN reported that the United Nations was predicting water wars by the year 2010. CNN said at that time that already there were 80 countries without adequate water supplies. The World Bank stated that $600 billion was needed to supply water-delivery systems to affected nations and peoples.

In April of 1988, BBC News quoted a leading environmental group as stating, "China is facing a critical water shortage, which could destabilize the region and cause world grain prices to rocket." "Worldwatch Institute" says that in the next thirty years, demand for water will rise by nearly five times as the industrial base expands and the population of China increases to one and a half billion. Every year for more than a decade the Yellow River has run dry before it reaches the sea, and water levels have been falling in many of the other Chinese river basins.

Where will it end? What can we do? Who will fire the first shot in the coming "water wars"?

Surely the answer is simple. Two-thirds of the earth's surface is water. How can we possibly run out? The problem is that almost all of the water in the world is sea water which is undrinkable and not even good for irrigation. The cost of desalinating that sea water is staggering in terms of equipment now available. So, the world is in a desperate state, indeed, with no apparent alternative but to fight for the water and oil that is available.

CONCLUSION

Where will this end? One very strong possibility is that it could cause a worldwide revolution against those who are perceived to be the enemy of the people. Look at any major revolution since American Independence. The French revolution (1789-1793), the Russian Revolution of 1917, the Chinese Revolution of (1945-1949), the Cuban Revolution (1952-58) pitted the peasants against their rulers whether they were royalty, dictators, or wealthy landowners. Today it is said that the world is a global village. In the eyes of 90% of the world you are the enemy. You may not feel rich as you try to scrape together enough dollars to pay the bills each month. But you have a home, running water, enough food and probably a car and a television. This makes you abundantly rich when viewed by people who have none of these, and that is most of the world. With such inequality and lack of resources in most parts of the world, is it any wonder that billions look upon America as their enemy in the world class struggle?

A few years ago we could have laughed at the thought of a world revolution against the United States. But today, we should not laugh. Our military is unprepared for war. During the last eight years the Clinton administration authorized American companies to sell vital secrets to China for building ballistic missiles and also for guiding them to targets within the United States. Those secrets were then passed on to several Islamic nations who now also possess the technology to wipe out the United States with both nuclear and biological weapons.

The Oil and Water wars are inevitable and will take place almost immediately.

The world is looking for a leader who has no national agenda, but a worldwide plan with the power to carry it out. He is a man who can unite Islam and the Communist dictatorships in a class struggle against the United States and her few remaining allies. He sounds very much like the man described in Bible Prophecy. He is already here and preparing his final plans to take over as world dictator. Are you ready to meet him?
