"When the Son of Man comes..."

Dear friends

"When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?" (Luke 188, NIV).

"As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man" (Matthew 243739).

"It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all" (Luke 1728-29).

In the first Scripture, Jesus infers that when He comes, faith will be scarce upon the earth, the way it is now. This probably does not apply to the Second Coming because at that time there will be no faith upon the earth, as God’s wrath has fallen on what is left of a rebellious and unbelieving humanity, about half of whom are already dead.

In the next two Scriptures, He tells us things will seem normal to people. They are lulled into a false sense of security and enjoying life, marrying, selling, building, engaging in carefree sexual perversion, etc. These two Scriptures could not be talking about the Second Coming at the end of the tribulation, with the near-total devastation that has happened in the preceding 3 ½ years. This has to be talking about before the rapture.

The destruction fell AFTER "Lot left Sodom." It came AFTER Noah entered the ark. In both cases, times were normal. People were complacent, enjoying their evil, and in unbelief and rebellion -- JUST LIKE NOW!

My point is that right now, today, we are living a time described in those three passages. People are complacent, even most so-called Christians and pew-sitters, who are not completely sold out to Jesus. Most of the world is enjoying its evil, and in unbelief. (By evil, I mean what Paul calls it "Whatever is not of faith.") Sodomy has become vogue, even protected and promoted by both our public and private institutions, and in many cases, churches. Our young people from K-1 through college are being indoctrinated in schools that reject and ridicule God’s Word, and their souls are being destroyed.

To the above scenario, add the recent, first-time availability of weapons of mass destruction in the hands of radical, irrational Muslims who want to kill all Westerners and Israelis and will willingly give up their own lives to do.

The conclusion: There has never been a time in history that has so perfectly fit the scenario of those above three passages as right now.

RIGHT NOW!
