Again four scrap books on the floor this time each had a world center written on a piece of paper, same idea, PL’s chose a scrap book and then the patrol worked hard to make their world center sound the best, this was only supposed to last up to TD, the highlight was a visit to Heritage Centre in London on TD but the girls were enjoying learning and their center and it’s country that they worked on it through to Easter. Again they stuck all the evidence in the scrapbooks.
During our visit to The Heritage Centre, four girls chose to make their Promise and our eldest Guide was presented with her Baden-Powell Trefoil by Cllr Doug Mcwigain, the deputy mayor of Huntingdon and our Unit Ambassador.
While in London we also visited Westminster Abby, the girls sang while walking through St. James Park, we looked through the gates at the end of Downing Street, had their photos taken by Queen Victoria’s monument and outside the gates of Buckingham Palace.
Also this half term the Girl Scouts from USAF Alconbury joined us for a Dijeridu night. This was a night of learning, entertainment and very noisy hands on fun all provided by Adam Sargent and Laurence Timms. |
