Standing in the horseshoe at the end of each meeting leaders and girls have the chance to reflect and discuss that night’s meetings, we discuss the good and bad points, likes and dislikes of the meeting and finally “Any other business” this was sometimes followed by a girl raising her hand she would then bring in to the horseshoe her Mum or Dad, introduce her parent and say they wanted to join us and make their “Parental Honour”.
Parents then stand (just like their daughters did) at the front of the horseshoe, place their right hand over their heart and say the Parental Honour. After they were given a miniature Adult Promise Badge to wear. This was just a bit of fun the girls came up with to help make their parents feel more involved.
Now of course, they are called Ambassadors and have a small orange trefoil badge. |
