The Gift of Life

There was a young woman only in her teens,
carrying a baby unexpectedly.
One day she was thinking that abortion was the only way out,
but that night she had a dream,
and her unborn child said,
“Mommy let me live,
let me feel a father’s arms around me,
a mother’s smile on me,
please give me the gift of life.”

On August 27th she delivered her child,
a tiny baby girl who was six weeks premature,
the doctor thought she wouldn’t live,
and suggested ending her life,
but her mother said,
“No, let her live,
she deserves to feel a father’s arms around her,
a mother’s smile on her,
she deserves the gift of life.”

On December 22nd a family took that child,
and raised her as their own,
that little girl was me,
and because my mother let me live,
I have a father’s arms around me,
a mother’s smile on me,
all because she gave me the most precious gift,
the gift of life.

Sometimes abortion seems like an easy way,
but remember especially today,
that the Lord created children as a special gift,
listen to the unborn children say,
"Mommy let me live,
let me feel a father’s arms around me,
a mother’s smile on me,
please give me the gift of life.”

There are many couples who would love of have a child of their own,
but for some reason that just can’t be,
and for them adoption is the only way,
I know that’s the reason I’m here today,
and because my mother let me live,
I have a father’s arms around me,
a mother’s smile on me,
all because she gave me the most precious gift,
the gift of life.
She gave me the gift of life.
What is a Mother?

A mother is many things,
a cook, a nurse, a friend,
someone who tucks you in at night,
and whispers “Sleep tight.”
A mother is always there to be a guide
down the straight and narrow way.
She’ll point you in the right direction if you go astray.

A mother is a loving friend,
who is ready to listen,
to your problems and help you if she can.
A mother is a teacher,
but instead of math,
she teaches you to be a loving friend.
A mother is a faithful nurse,
who never goes off call.
She’s always on hand with the medicine,
or a washcloth for your head.
She goes with you and holds your hand,
when you have to have a shot,
or get blood drawn,
then it won’t hurt so bad.

Mother you’ve been all this to me,
and a whole lot more,
but I’d have to write a century to say it all.
So on this Mother’s Day I’ll say it in five words,
Mom, I love you, always. I’ve spread my wings,
and flown away,
to bigger and better things.
So when you see these pictures,
think of how I’ve changed,
from the four pound one once baby girl,
to the eighteen-year-old you see.
My Dad

I was young, and mirthful,
when my daddy went away.
He was lying on the bed,
white, and pale,
just lying there very still.

The man who was always there for me,
needed me now,
to hold his hand,
and very gently say,
“I’m here, it’s all right.

He looked up at me, and smiled,
“I know sweetheart, I’m not afraid.”
I smiled, and with tears in my eyes said,
“Daddy no matter what happens I’ll always love you.”
I’ll Never Forget You

I got the call; it was half-past two,
and I cried because I couldn’t be there,
to say goodbye as you passed into the next world.
I thought now what, now that Dad’s gone what am I supposed to do,
then Jesus came and gently reminded me,

That you’re in no pain,
it’s all over now,
you’re with the Lord, you’ve finally reached your goal,
and someday I’ll be there too, but until then,
I’ll never forget you.

Some nights my mind wonders back through the years,
very slowly my eyes fill with tears,
as memories come up,
they make me smile again.

I want to say thank you,
for showing me what real love was,
you didn’t have say a word,
I saw it in the way you treated me.

Someday I’ll start my life,
I’ll graduate and marry if the Lord wills,
and I might even have children too,
but believe me I’ll never forget you.
Memory

In August 1992 we came to you,
a family that you barely knew,
as the years came and went,
we grew to love each one of you,
and you loved us too.

In 1996 in our darkest hour,
you came and stood beside us,
drying tears and lending listening ears.

We wish you well,
in all you do,
keep the faith in the Lord,
that we serve,
to Him always be true.

Those were Pastor Rodney’s final words to you,
as he lay in death,
today he is with us still,
so we hear them again.

We love each one of you,
and pray that the Lord continues to bless you.
Thank you for all the great memories,
and the love you showed us.

Disney Magic

Children laughing,
music playing,
parades marching,
popcorn munching,
these are the sounds of Disney World.

Shows of wonder,
that transport you,
into a magical world of fun,
and fireworks of beautiful colors,
that remind you of Tinkerbell’s Flight,
these are the sights of Disney World.

Hamburgers, hot dogs, and soda pop,
a child’s favorite meal,
these are the smells of Disney World.

Walt Disney had a vision,
a vision of a magical place,
where adults can be children,
and everyone can dream,
the sweet dreams of childhood.
A Teacher’s Prayer

A good Christian teacher is:
Teachable, they never stop learning so that they can help you learn.
Enthusiastic, they love what they do.
Approachable, they are always there for you.
Consecrated, wholly yielded to the will of God.
Honest, they always tell the truth.
Enduring, they keep on going even when it seems hopeless.
Reliable, they always follow through on what they say they’ll do.
Sensitive, to the needs of their students and those around them.
Lord, this is the kind of teacher I want to be,
make me a teacher who is completely yielded to Thee.
Love is a Rose

Love is a rose,
of delicate beauty,
that can be easily crushed,
so we must nourish and protect it,
to keep it strong.

Love is a rose,
of delicate petals,
that can break off at a touch.
But, we can keep this from happening,
if we are gentle in our touch.

Love is a rose,
that blossoms very slowly.
It does not grow up overnight,
but, over time,
it will blossom,
into a thing of timeless beauty.

Love is a rose,
to what else can we compare,
this beautiful creation,
that God made with such care.
Christmas Is Love

Christmas is a time,
of joy, peace, and fun,
of colored lights,
Tinsel,
and presents for everyone.

A time to visit,
family, and see,
old friends, and sing,
Carols,
around the Christmas tree.

A time of secrets,
baked surprises too,
I hope there will be,
Cookies,
enough for you, and me.

However,
the truest meaning of Christmas is Love,
the love of God, who sent,
His Son,
from Heaven’s throne above.

Yes,
Christmas is Love,
that’s what it means to me.
Newborn Kittens

Newborn kittens,
Soft and fluffy,
very small,
and very
Cute
when they,
cuddle,
up to shut their eyes, and sleep.

They’re no bigger than your,
palm,
they hear your voice,
very soft,
and gentle, as they sleep.

They feel your,
Hand,
stroking their silky fur,
then they cuddle even closer,
and begin to,
purr.
