Welcome to 80 Knight's 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix LE Page | ||||||||||
General Info: Bought Car In: September of 1998 Bought Saftied?: YES Bought Emission Passed?: NOT a requirment at the time. This was the very first car I ever owned. I had just got a job at a local Future Shop (They are an Electronics, and Computer store here in Canada) and I was looking for a Car. I needed a Vehicle to get me to and from work everyday, so we began looking. The first place we stopped at was a Used Car Dealership. We found this car, but they were asking aroung $6500 for it. We got them down to around $6000, including a warranty, and we decided to try going to the bank for a loan, to purchase the car. On the way home, we stopped at one more place. Here, we found a 1993 or so Pontiac Grand Am. Black, 2-door, and in beautiful shape. She also had like 25,000 or so less KM's than the Grand Prix. So, we (My Father and I) really liked this car. It also had the 3.4L V6, as opposed to the Grand Prix's 3.1 V6. So, we put in an offer on it... The salesman came back, and told us that the car had already been purchased, just not picked up yet...It was like, thanks for posting a "SOLD" sign on the car, or knowing your inventory BEFORE we sit there for an hour waiting... But, it was for the best. The Grand Prix, that we bought, turned out to be a much better car. Accident Report: On Fathers Day, or 2001, Myself, and one of my Sisters, were in a minor accident. The car was wrote off by the Insurance Company. Here is what happened, and Pictures are available, look below for the Link. We had pulled out of a local Bank, and were driving down the street. We were going to turn into a parking lot of a store. We stopped, to let the car on the other side of the road go into the lot, and a Chevy Venture Van, hit me from behind. We had been stopped for around 5 seconds, but the other driver just did no see me. He said that he was looking at the buildings, looking for a store. The car was taken to a Dealership, who repairs cars. The Insurance Company let us choose the Dealership. We chose the one my Uncle is the head mechanic in. A day or so later, I went to get all the stuff out of the car. The appraiser (He tells the Insurance Company if the car is worth fixing) asked us if we wanted to keep the car. Well, the Calipers were going, (Around $300 a PEICE to replace) and some other things were wrong with the car, so we said no. He wrote it off, and I collected the Insurance money. That is all that I did with this car. The car was sold to a Junk Yard, who probably either fixed it, or "repaired" some of it, and put on another V.I.N. number, to make the car legal to drive. I have no idea. |
