I've been owned by a Japanese Chin for 6 years - she is a real joy. I want to add another to our family in the next year or so. We've recently moved to Alabama and our lovely ChinChin shares our home with two older Lhasa Apsos,a 17 year old cat and two umans. After having Lhasa Apsos for 16+years,adding a Chin to the family has been a real adventure -- what a character she is! She greets us at the front door every time we return from being out bringing a toy to welcome us. The only negative thing abou her is that the Lhasas have taught her to bark - she doesn't bark at monsters, just as a way of greeting us - but I miss her trilling.

I have a 10-year old pet Chin named Mieko. She is too big to be breed standard, but otherwise has all of the characteristics of the Chin. She lives with a Cocker Spaniel and a dachshund, as well as two cats and two birds. She is the youngest and smalle t, but from the day she moved in (1 1/2 pounds), she has been in charge! I will someday get another Chin -- she is a great dog. I wish I saw more of them around.
