Jean-Frederic was born January 7,1999.
He was such a precious and beautiful little boy.
I didn't have the chance to really know him and I wasn't there the day he flew to heaven but I can say that he made a huge impact on my life.
three months and 12 days after his birth he became an angel... Here is the story of that faithful day.
J-F woke up at 8 that morning for his feeding. He was acting the same way he use to act everyday and nothing could have prepare any of us for what was to happen later on that day.
It's his dad who woke up with him and gave him his bottle while watching television. Not long after finishing it J-F felt tired so his dad
put him back to bed and went to lay down.
Little did he know that it was the last time he was putting his son to bed
At 10 that morning his mother woke up and was surprise not to hear her son. She went to see him and he was fast asleep in his crib. She looked at him and her first thought was that he looked like an angel.
little did she know how right she was....
She was on her way to the door when an horrible feeling came over her. She turned back and when to look at her son. Than she realized what had happen. Her scream that morning filled the whole apartment and woke up her husband who came running into the nursery.
He took the baby from her and started CPR while Melanie went to call 911 for help.
Despite all the workers efforts they were not able to breath life in his tiny little body.
They took him to the nearest emergency but even there they were powerless and he was declared death not long after his arrival.
After they announced the news to the parents they took them into a small room where their son was lying there peacefully.
Needless to say how difficult it was to say goodbye to your own child.
Like in all SIDS cases J-F was send for an autposie and his parent to the mortuary to prepare for the funerals.
Jean-Frederic was lay to rest on April 21,1999. It was raining that day just like if heaven was shedding tears with us.
Since he was dedicated to the lord only 3 weeks before his death Melanie chose to have him buried in his baptismal gown.
Few months after his death Melanie received the pathologist report. Her son's death was rule as SIDS because there was nothing wrong with him.
He was healthy and had no reasons to die....
November 25,1999 Melanie gave birth to her second son Jeffrey.
A little brother J-F will never get to hold.
