To Jeremy Brett : To all who loved him : To all who love him still

Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other we are still.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we have always laughed
At the little jokes that we enjoyed together
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
I am waiting for you, just around the corner.
All is well.

Who is Jeremy Brett?
Mr Jeremy Brett (1933-1995) was a versatile British actor with a distinguished 40-year career legacy, ranging from the British theatre, film, television, Broadway and even off-Broadway stages. He has been in such diverse rôles as Bassanio, Dorian Gray, Dracula, Freddie Eynsford-Hill, Hamlet, Maxim de Winter, William Tatham, and Robert Browning. Yet he is perhaps best known in America, or around the world, for his definitive portrayal of Sherlock Holmes in the Granada television series, in which he played for over a decade.

Why a discussion club?

- A tribute to his memory and influence. May it live on for all time...
