California Trip 2003

09 August through 16 August

I took my annual trip to Califoria, again. This time I went to San Luis Obispo, where my friend Michael goes to school. I was in for a treat this year because our friend Katie, who attends the University of Wisconsin at Madison, came to partake in the fun as well. As usual, the trip was hella fun.

The routing for the Trip was on American Airlines.

AUS-DFW-LAX-SBP-LAX-DFW-AUS

Funny story, on the first leg. the flight from DFW-LAX was delayed significantly enough to make me miss my connection to SBP. Lucky for me, I met up with some really nice ladies who booked me on a United Express flight to Santa Maria (30 minutes south of San Luis Obispo.)

Anyhow, to the pictures! (if you really like them, and I hope you do, and you want one say, for a background cos you love scenery, I have much larger versions of these, so just ask for one.)

This is the plane that took me from AUS-DFW. It's an MD-80

.

This is my plane from DFW-LAX. I would be on it for about 4 1/2 hours. Strange, huh? Yes, I was on the ground at DFW for 2 hours because of a weather ground stop. There were 34 planes ahead of us for take off.

This is the view of Los Angeles, probably South Central, on approach to LAX. Notice the smog and the general ugliness of the ground below.

I barely made the flight to SMX (Santa Maria.) But, as you can see, I got there in enough time to get a rock and roll picture.

Here are Michael, Katie and Myself. You can barely see Hearst Castle in the background.

This is the Neptune Pool at Hearst Castle. It's fucking amazing.

This is a better picture of the awesome view from the Castle.

I think this is one of the better pictures I've taken. The moon and the seagulls i think work well together. What do you think?

There are the three of us again. Picture was taken by a crazy fisherman.

Just a shot of some of the walking trails in downtown San Luis Obispo. It's a very nice city in which to walk.

This is the view of a San Francisco neighbourhood from Golden Gate Park.

Busy street in downtown San Francisco.

View of the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge and the Financial District from Coit Tower.

View of the amazing city of San Francisco, from Telegraph Hill.

A view of Alcatraz from Coit Tower.

Just to give you a good idea of how hilly San Francisco is. You can't see it in the picture, but those sidewalks here have stairs because it's so steep.

This is my friend's apartment complex. Kinda interesting.

This is the view of a large hill from my friends balcony.

The plane that would take me from SBP-LAX. Saab 340B.

Aerial Overview of San Luis Obispo. A little foggy cos the window of the plane was dirty.

Plane to take me from LAX-DFW. We left earlier than the flight that was supposed to go before us to DFW. haha.

This is the final shot of the trip, where I was waiting in DFW for my flight to AUS to board.
