Sept. 24th- The troop made sit-upons to take on our camp-out this weekend at Ledgewood. They cut the sit-upon from a shower curtain, put newspaper inside, and stitched it closed. We talked about the things we were going to do at camp. The girls brought in their change that they collected from family and friends. We will be counting this and donating to a charity for the victims of the September11th disaster. We will also be having a bake sale October 4th at the school.
Sept. 17th- Tonight the troop discussed the September 11th national tragedy. The girls all shared their fears and concerns and we talked about ways that they as a troop could help.
They decorated cans that they could collect change from friends and family to donate to the disaster relief fund. We also discussed a bake sale to raise money for all the children that were made orphans Sept. 11th. We colored flags that each girl could display and sang patriotic songs. The troop all signed a scrapbook page that is being put into a scrapbook to be sent to the firefighters in New York.
