TeenPeople.com thanks the following celebrities
who have made Stars, Stripes and Strength pledges:
Musiq
Soulchild I will donate some proceeds from
my upcoming shows to the Red Cross and victims'
families.
"A life-changing situation like this makes you
realize certain things. For me, personally, this has caused me to be
more politically aware, not just in terms of my own country, but the
whole world. It's important to know what's going on and how it
affects myself, my surroundings and my environment."
Ja Rule I will make a donation to a
disaster relief organization like the Red Cross or the United Way's
September 11th Fund.
"I've made two uplifting records so far since this
happened [Ja wrote TLC's Rainy Days and Shorty 101's Say
Yeah]. Rainy Days is a spiritual record; it's kind of the
spirit of all of us, that we're going to make it. And Say
Yeah is so happy; it's going to have everybody feeling
good.
"I always stress to everybody to try and get back to a
sense of normalcy. Do what you've been doing, because I feel like
these issues are way over our heads. There are so many things we
don't know. What happened is tragic. Let's deal with it accordingly,
but let's not let it break us. Don't let it break our spirits. Let's
everybody get back to what we were doing. Live your life. We're
going to get through this."
Ludacris I made a donation to the Red
Cross.
"I think everyone should pledge to be more
self-motivated, to work harder to make their dreams come true. You
should live every day like it could be your last one."
Bryan Chan
(LMNT) I pledge to continue regular
donations to the Red Cross with clothes, food, and money to aid both
the victims and the volunteers.... I also pledge to use my platform
as a perfomer to educate and promote tolerance and anti-violence
campaigns.
"The day after September 11th: Blood banks
had to close due to overflow -- so many volunteers arrived that most
were told to go home and check back later, and the Red Cross turned
away donations of perishable food because there wasn't enough space
for it and not enough people to eat it. Americans came together to
give whatever they could for each other and for their country. We
need to continue these efforts whether we're facing triumph or
disaster -- and we will continue to show the rest of the world why
we are the greatest country there is, and why our spirit can never
be broken. "Keep your head up to the sky...."
