FREEDOM
Let freedom cry.  Let her voice echo in the streets.  Let the children of the world cry freedom.  Let her voice be heard in the villages.  Let every man, woman, and child in the city shout freedom.

Let the walls of Babylon be shattered at the sound of freedom.   Let the oppressors of the world have no peace because of the cry for freedom.

 What is freedom?

How can true freedom be achieved? The Oxford English dictionary defines freedom as (1) exemption or release from slavery or imprisonment, personal liberty, (2) exemption from arbitrary or autocratic control, independence and civil liberty, (3) the state of being able to act without hindrance or restraint, liberty of action.

To be free is defined as not in bondage to another, not bound or subject as a slave is to his master; enjoying personal rights and liberty of action as a member of a society or state.

Webster’s dictionary defines freedom as (1) the quality or state of being free: as (a) the quality or state of not being coerced or constrained by fate, necessity or circumstances in one’s choice or actions; (2) exemption or liberation from slavery, imprisonment, or restraint or from the undue, arbitrary, or despotic power and control of another: the ability or capacity to act without undue hindrance or restraint.

No person within the Black community can truly say they are truly enjoying these fundamental rights.

Why then is the FBI, the CIA, and other secret service personnel digging into our past and present?  Why do they continue setting up traps and roadblocks to hinder our freedom of speech, movements, and actions?

Paper freedom is no freedom.  Freedom can never be given.  Freedom must be taken.  There are times when freedom must be fought for and died for.  Freedom is the most precious of all gifts.  Freedom to choose, freedom to come and go at will, and freedom to work and play.  We have been deprived of these God given rights.

While we are being deprived of the most vital essence of life, the slave masters of the world enslave us and use our services to benefit themselves and their children.  At no time should we feel compelled to obey restrictive laws or statues which deprive us of the most fundamental essence of life.

One must come to grips with oneself and reality, and then begin saying no to bondage, no to enslavement, and no to the lack of freedom.  The chains may not be upon our hands or feet, but the most destructive type of slavery is an enslaved mind.

The chains of iron and brass may be temporarily removed, but a mind that is enslaved requires an act of God to free it.  Therefore, cry freedom!  Let her voice be heard in the streets in the daytime.  Let freedom be the first word spoken in the morning and the last word spoken at night.

Let the ministers, teachers, and preachers sound her name aloud from the mountaintop.  Let the dancers, writers and singers speak of her constantly.  Freedom must be sought for, fought for, and also died for.

No one of any race, nationality, creed, or religion should be deprived of freedom. When the basic fundamentals of freedom are being deprived, it is time for war.  We should not permit any one small or great to deprive us of freedom.

Let the warriors and the liberators among our people arise and begin preparing for war.  Let the old men teach the young men the true values of freedom.  Let freedom be written upon the hearts of every man, woman, and child.

Let us embrace her and run after her.  Let every man, woman, boy, and girl cherish and nourish her.  But how can we cherish and nourish what we do not have?  How can we cherish, nourish, and embrace what we do not know?

We have been deprived of our God given rights to freedom.  Our liberties have been infringed upon.  We have been raped of our most basic fundamental rights.  What are the penalties and punishment which we must execute upon those who have violated our God given rights to freedom?  In what prison should these murderers and thieves be placed?  On what gallows should they be hung?  Before what type of firing squad should they be placed? There is no question about the crime or the punishment.  The only question which lingers is when?

How can we punish murderers and thieves when we have no court and no government of our own?  Until we gain these necessary infrastructures, the murderers of our children will still be at large.  If the murderers of our children and grandchildren are still at large, the future of our most precious prize will be in jeopardy.  Our children and grandchildren ability to find freedom and know freedom will be virtually impossible.

Having this knowledge, we are basically doomed if we leave the destroyers of our people at large. What are we going to do?  How can hope stay alive unless those who are alive rise to the challenge, and then take the vicious bull by its horns and splinter its head and neck into billions of pieces?

Freedom cannot be attained unless we are willing to fight and die for it.  Our visions and dreams will always remain visions and dreams if we do not rise up and make them living realities.

Cry freedom!  Let freedom reign.  Let her voice be heard echoing night and day.  Let her be seen when our children are at play.  Let us regain the power which has been taken away from us over four hundred years ago.  Let us regain the power of self-determination.  For this is the only way that we can have true freedom.
