SELF-RELIANCE

        We cannot and should not ask someone to do for us the things we can do for ourselves.  We should not depend on the White man to provide jobs for us.  We should not depend on the White man to build homes for us.

        America is for sale.  Let us pool our money together and buy land and start building cities of our own.  We have been asking the White man to respect us, and the only time he will show us respect, if we stop crawling on our knees like beggars.  We have been begging the White man to do for us, the things we can do for ourselves.

        You do not beg for respect.  You earn respect!  The time has come for us to stop crawling on our knees.  Stop begging the White man for any thing.  We are a powerful people.  Let us unite and begin building a powerful nation.

        Members of the Black Self-Reliance Movement do not beg for freedom.  We reach out and take hold of freedom.  Freedom is never given.  Freedom must be taken!

 MILLENNIUM 2000

      The challenges of today are many.  The opportunities for success are attainable.  We have just enter the new millennium.  What will the new millennium hold for the entire Black nation?

      The time has come for us to unite forces and confront the challenges of the new era.  Let us stand strong like mighty men.  Let us become the new forces which will shape the twenty first century.  Let it not be said, "I am just one person and I cannot make a difference", but let it be said, "We can make a change by marshaling all our resources together."  When we do this, we can give birth to a new nation.

      This new nation with its mighty people must be a humane nation.  It must be a nation that cares about people more than things.  The horrors of our past must not be a reason for us to become oppressors.  We must never become the things we hate most.

      Our strength must be unshaken.  We must no longer be easy targets.  We must be willing to give our lives and to take the lives of our enemies for the total and complete liberation of the entire Black nation.  We have been given our lives and have taking the lives of others, to benefit our oppressors and their children.  The time has come for us to do for self what others will not do for us
