This was a great outing. It took 3 1/2 hours to drive up there, but it was well worth it. Saturday started out a little cloudy, but it cleared up and became a great day. |

Joshua Tree |
The High Adventure Team did a 15-mile backpack trip and met the rest of the Troop. There was also some boulder hopping at Sheeps Pass. |

Triathlon. |
We met Saturday morning just above Crystal Lake, it was 35 degrees, and hiked the 5 miles to Islip Saddle and back. We then got on our bicycles and rode 30 miles to Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area. On Sunday we canoed 10 miles around the lake at Santa Fe Dam |

This was done in place of the regular Troop meeting. We went to Hangar 18 in Upland to do a little climbing. |

Council's "Back to the Future" Camporee 2000 at Holcomb Valley Scout Camp with about 2000 other Scouts. |

This year we went to Mataguay Scout Camp near Warner Springs. |

Webelos/Scout Weekend |
We introduced about 8 Cub Scouts from Pack 725 to Boy Scouting at Camp Jubilee near Pinion Hills, CA. It was a cold weekend, by Southern California standards. We woke up Saturday morning to 28 degree weather. Sunday it was warmer, 32 degrees. During the day I don't think it got over 65 degrees. In spite of that, it was a good weekend. |

Camping/Exploring |
We went to the Hole in the Wall campground in the Mojave National Preserve near Needles. Saturday, we went for a visit to Mitchell Caverns. The caverns were small but it was very interesting. Again the weather was cold, 36 degree mornings, but it was not as cold as Jubilee. |
