Loving You
Ashlynn came home from a long day at school. Her classes are starting to get harder now. She unlocked her door and walked in and shut it behind her. She walked into the living room and took off her coat and set it on a near by chair. She saw her light blinking on her answering machine. BEEP!
"How did I fall in love with her?"
Ashlynn was suddenly confused. She couldn’t figure out who it was and who loved her? She played it again.
"How did I fall in love with her?"
She listened to it closer. He was Nick. He loved her?
"No it can't be Nick. We're best friends NOT anything more," she said aloud. She played it once more just to be sure. And sure enough it was Nick.
"How can this be? Why? I have a boyfriend…" she thought
Meanwhile Nick sat at home. He realized that he said he loved her on her answering machine. He hoped she didn’t hear him. He heard his phone ringing. He got nervous and started to sweat.
"Hello?"
"Hey bro how are you?" It was just Aaron. He felt relived.
"I am doing good how about you?"
"I am really tired," he complained.
"Oh Aaron," Nick laughed.
"Hey Nick I gotta go man, mom just beeped me I'll call ya later," he said.
"Okay Aaron talk to ya later," Nick hung up the phone. Him and Aaron don’t get to talk very often now that Aaron is always touring or in the studio working on a new album he's starting to miss his little brother.
Ashlynn debated on weather or not to call up Nick. She wanted to say something so bad, but didn’t have any guts to tell him about her boyfriend. She walked into the kitchen and got a glass of water. She heard her phone ring.
"Hello?" she answered.
"Hey Ash. It's Molly I wanted to know if you would like to go out with me and the girls?" she asked.
"I can't Molly. I have some business to take care of with Nick. I have to find a way to tell him I am going out with Austin," she explained.
"Ash! You still haven't told him? I thought you were supposed to do that a long time again or something,"
"Yea, but that was before he left a message saying she loved me," she said.
"What? When did he do that?" Molly asked.
"Earlier today I guess. It was on there when I got home today,"
"Oh, well I personally think you should tell Nick. He might be even more crushed now," Molly suggested. Ashlynn thought about it. Molly was right. It would probably be the best thing to do since she was dating Austin.
"Yea, I guess you're right. I'll call him now. I'll talk to ya later and tell ya how things went okay?" Ashlynn said.
"K" Molly hung up the phone. Ashlynn hung up her phone and then picked it back up again dialing Nick's number.
"Hello?"
"Hi Nick." it felt good to hear his voice once again.
"Oh hey," she sounded nervous.
"I heard your message on the machine today. Is that true?" she asked.
Nick nervously glanced around the room. He expected her to call. Nick didn’t know what to say. It was true, but what would she think?
"It's true," he confessed.
"When? How? What's going on Nick?" Ashlynn questioned.
"I.. I don’t know Ash. It kind of started after you left," he explained.
"I should have told you sooner, but I have a boyfriend," Nick was crushed. All he wanted was for her to love him like he loves her.
"Oh," he sighed.
"Nick, please don’t be disappointed. Really please. It will never work you're there and I am here," Ashlynn explained.
"Ash please," Nick begged
Ashlynn couldn’t believe this. Nick begging to go out with her.
"Nick please I am going out with Austin now," she said.
"Is there any chance?" Ashlynn smiled to herself.
"We'll see," she knew Nick had a big smile on his face and was overjoyed with excitement.
"You aren't joking with me are you?"
"No.. I am being honest with you."
"Hurry up and break up with him," he joked.
"No.. no we'll see what happens," she said.
"Oh alright, I gotta go though. I'll talk to ya later," he happily said.
"Okay! Talk to ya later," Ashlynn hung up the phone. She was happy the way things turned out with Nick. Now she wishes her and Austin might break up.
Nick was overjoyed. He was really happy. Ashlynn said we'll see those words were sticking out in his mind. He couldn’t believe it.
"Ashlynn said we'll see," he smiled. He would have never expected it.
"Maybe she does love me like I love her after all," Nick said aloud. That made him happy. He walked towards the TV and put in the tape he had been watching earlier. He sat back down on the couch and smiled.
