Chapter 1

Meagan sat on her window seal wondering why her mom was putting her suitcases in the car and left. Meagan was just 15. She ran down the stairs to ask her dad, but of course he was drinking another beer.

"Daddy why did mom leave?" she asked.
"We had a fight. She says she isn't coming back."
"Why were you fighting again?" she wanted to know as much information as possible.
"Your mom wanted me to go to rehab for my drinking problem, but I said no." her dad looked at her with a blank face.
"Why did you say no when you know you have a problem dad?" At that point Meagan was a little ticked off with her dad. He knew he had a problem with drinking. But her dad was always too lazy to do anything anyway.
"I don’t have a problem. So please go away!" he shouted. She did what she was told before anything else worse happened to her. She went back upstairs to her room and cried on her bed. She just wanted her dad to do this one thing for her that's all she asked for was her dad to get some help. Meagan had lost all hope of that ever happening. She stared at her blank walls and prayed to God that someone would take her away so she didn’t have to live with her dad anymore. Meagan didn’t have anyone to really go to, but she had her friends who stuck with her in the time of need. Meagan finally got up and whipped away her tears and walked over to her mirror and fixed her make-up.
-2 hours later-

Meagan still sat in her room wondering if her dad ever thought about how much he loved her and would go to rehab. She got up once again and walked out to the living room to check on her dad he was still sitting in the same spot he was before drinking a bottle of jack daniel's.

"Dad can you please consider going and doing something? You don’t have a job how are you going to support me if all you are going to do is drink alcohol every day?" Meagan stood in front of the TV so she would at least listen to her.
"Why don’t you get a job your old enough."
"No.. dad I am not.. I am only 15."
"Lie then." Meagan couldn’t lie to get her way. Even though how much she wanted to she just couldn’t do it. Meagan gave up trying to fins away to change her dad's mind. So he would reconsider going to rehab. Meagan's stomach stated to growl so she headed for the kitchen to make herself some lunch as she looked out the window a car pulled up into the driveway. Meagan didn't recognize the color of the car or the people who got out of it. She watched the men who were dressed in black suits walk to the door. DING-DONG! She heard her dad get up from his chair and open the door. Meagan peaked around the corner to see what was going on.
"May I help you?" her dad asked.
"Yes. We are here to take your daughter Meagan Richards. We have been ordered by the state." The man handed him the papers that documented it. Meagan came out of the kitchen holding her sandwich in her hand.
"Where am I going?" she asked.
" You're going into a foster home. You can live with your dad again after he gets some treatment" Meagan was happy that her dad was going to have to get treatment now.
"Are you taking me now?" she asked.
"Yes. Just go grab your things and we will be waiting for you in the car." the short little man said.Meagan walked to her room took out her suitcase and packed what she thought was necessary to bring. The last thing she packed was her CD's and potable CD player and she was on her way out the door. She waved good-bye to her dad as they pulled out of the driveway. Her dad felt like there was nothing he could do at that moment to get his daughter back right there at that time. Her dad then walked into the kitchen and grabbed the phone book and grabbed the phone and dialed the first rehab center he saw.
"Hello?"
"Um yes I need to be checked in for my alcohol problem."
"Okay how long have you bad this problem sir?" she asked.
"Since I was at least 26 or so. So I'd say around 13/14 years."
"Okay sir we can get you call checked in on Saturday." "
Okay thank you."
"What's your name?" "
"Dave Richards."
"Okay Dave you are ready to go."
"Okay thanks." he hung up the phone and walked into the living room and sat back down in his chair.
