*Later that afternoon*
"Nickolas," Jens mother said as she saw Nick smiling at Anthony.
"Yeah?" he said looking up at her.
"How you feeling?"
"Alright," he said softly.
"Jennifer went to the store. She’ll be back in a few minutes," her mother said.
"Oh, alright," he said turning his attention back to Anthony.
"I just wanted to tell you something while she’s gone."
"What’s that?" Nick asked seriously.
"You better not hurt my daughter again Nickolas. I’ve already seen her go through so much pain because of you and I’m sick of it. Just remember this, when it comes to my daughter I don’t mess around."
"Look, I’m just here to see my son. I have at least that right."
"I never said you didn’t I did tell you not to hurt my daughter. If you do, there will be hell to pay."
"Jen will be fine, don’t worry."
"Yeah well just remember that I’m watching you Nickolas."
*Meanwhile*
AJ sighed and rook a deep breath. He turned on the tv and began to flip through all of the channels. He stopped when he reached MTV.
"Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, was released from a Florida hospital today. You may remember Carter was in a car accident a month ago and fell into a coma. Doctors said that he was lucky to be alive. The cause of the accident is still unknown. Carter is said to be spending time with his almost one year old son. There is no offical word from Nick or the guys."
AJ turned off the tv and look around the house. It was quiet; errie. No one had called to tell them that Nick was getting out. He reached for the phone and called Brian.
"Hello?" Brian answered.
"Brian, it’s AJ. Did you know Nick got out of the hospital today?"
"Really? You talked to him?"
"No I saw it on MTV. I thought that he talked to you."
"No, me and him haven’t talked. We got into a fight. I haven’t talked to him since."
"A fight? About what?"
"Jen, I think he wants to take advantage of her."
"I wouldn’t be surprised if he did."
"Did you talk to Jen?"
"No, you were the first person I called."
"Oh. Don’t you think she might know what’s going on?" Brian asked.
"Yeah, well they said that he was spending time with Anthony. So if that’s true then she would know."
"She would. Anthony is something she’s gonna keep a close eye on, especailly when Nick is involved."
"Tell me about it. What I don’t get is why she keeps letting him back in he life."
"AJ, she might not know what else to do. I think she wants to do the right thing for Anthony, but she’s not she’s just not sure what to do and that’s why Nick is allowed to come back."
"Well, I think that he shouldn’t be ‘back’ until Jen decides what she wants to do."
"Then who’s going to be Anthonys father figure? When you two were together she had more options, now, well, she has less to work with."
"She knows that I want to help."
"Look, she might not always come running to you especailly now that you’ve broken up. She can do what she wants or what she thinks is right."
"Alright, I’m going to give Jen a call and see what’s up. I’ll talk to you later."
"Okay man, take care."
"You too," AJ said hanging up the phone then picking it up again and dialed Jens mom house.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Jen?"
"No, this is her mom. AJ is that you?"
"Yeah."
"Jen’s not here right now. I’ll tell you that you called when she comes back alright?"
"Oh okay. Just one thing, you heard anything about Nick lately?"
"Yeah, he’s here and I don’t like this at all. I want him gone."
"Why would Jen want him back?"
"I have no idea."
"Alright, tell Jen I called."
"I sure will. Take good care of yourself."
"I will and you too."
"Bye."
"Bye," he said hanging up the phone in confussion.
