Chapter 7

Jen woke up in AJ's arms. They had fallen asleep on the couch. She was glad to know that AJ was there for her. She really needed him. It was tough for her to deal with everything that was going on by herself.
Jen stood up and smiled at AJ, who was still sleeping. She was glad that he was there, he really helped her out. He talked to her and he was really glad he did because she really needed someone to talk to.
Jen lightly brushed her hand over AJ's face. He rolled over and she decided to head to the kitchen to get something to drink. Jen grabbed a cup from the cabinet and grabbed the container of milk and poured a glass. She sat at the table and rested her head in her hands. Near tears, Jen lifted her head to keep herself calm.
"Morning," came a voice and Jen turned to see AJ, she smiled at him.
          "Hi."
"How you feeling now that we talked?"
"I'm still upset. I want my son back still, but I'm a lot more relaxed, I guess since I have you here for me when I need you."
"Well remember that everything is going to be alright. When this is over, I promise I'll make your life as happy as I can."
"I'll be more than happy when I get Anthony back and Nick pays for what he did."
          "He'll pay, don't worry."
"I know, but he's probably going to find away to get himself out of trouble."
"Not with me and the guys, we'll make his life a living hell. Like he's doing to you."
"So you're planning on keeping the group together."
"Yeah, it's our lives. We've put so much time, effort and devotion into it. I don't think we're about to leave that all behind we'll get through this hopefully."
          "Even considering what happened?"
"Yeah. Nick just let his fame get to his head. Me and the guys will knock him down a couple levels, don't worry about it. We woulda prevented it from happening, but he hid it and there was no way for us to know that this was ever going to happen."
"I wish I was as forgiving as you."
"You have no reason to be at all forgiving. He doesn't desirve your forgivness. He doesn't desirve it from us either but we're not doing it for him, we're doing it for us."
"What happens if he goes to jail? How are you guys going to explain to your fans that he beat his girlfriend and kidnapped his son?"
"The only thing we can do is be honest. They probably have already heard that something was up. It would only make things worse if we lied. We can only hope that things don't get too bad."
"AJ, I think things are bad already. He did a lot of things that might make parents reconsider letting their young children look up to you guys. I know I might have doubts. You guys really have to consider what effect this is going to have on you guys. You've already been through so much. People are still getting over the fact that you had to go to rehab, how do you think people are going to take it when they find out that he's behind all this crap?"
"Well, we're just going to have to wait and see what happens. There is no telling how people are going to take it. We can only hope that it works out for the best. If not, we'll see what happens."
"Lets change the subject," Jen said as AJ took a seat on the chair next to her.
"Yeah, that would be a good idea," AJ said letting out a long breath, "so lets talk about us."
"Alright, but I think we already have."
"Yeah, I just think that we need to get things cleared up because we have found ourselves in a new situation. I just want to make sure that things are comfortable for you."
"They are just fine. I'll be alright."
"You sure?" AJ asked putting his hand on her knee.
"Yeah," she said getting up from the table. Just then, the door bell rang and Jen went to see who it was.
"Hello ma'am," said the officer who had rung her bell.
           "Hello," Jen said.
"I'm here to deliever some good news. We found your son. Come down to the station and you can have him."
"Oh thank you!!! I'll be right there!!!"
"Alright ma'am, have a good afternoon."
"Thank you, you too," Jen said and closed the door, "AJ, THEY HAVE ANTHONY!" Jen yelled.
"Really? Lets go get him," AJ said, happy and relived that nothing had happened to him.
           "Yeah lets go!"

*A Bit Later*

"Okay ma'am, we'll bring him right out," the officer said and then headed towards a back room and disappeared.
"You think Nick is here?" Jen asked AJ.
           "Probably, why?"
"I wanna give him a piece of my mind."
           "Yeah, well take a number."
"Wait, I think I have the most to get off my mind," Jen argued.
"Ma'am," the officer interuped and in his arms, he held Anthony.
"Anthony!" Jen said taking Anthony into her arms.
"I would like to inform you that you can file charges against your husband."
"He's not my husband," Jen corrected.
"Sorry. If you don't press charges, we're going to have to let him go." Jen turned to AJ, she wasn't sure what to do. AJ's eyes told her to do it and that was all the encouragement she needed.
"Yeah, I think I would like to press charges," Jen said, her eyes never leaving AJ's.
"Alright, I'll get the papers," the officer said, once again disappearing into a back room.
"You're doing the right thing. I mean he hit you, he kidnapped Anthony, you have to do something other wise he is going to think that he can get away with anything."
"I'm just so glad Anthony is okay," Jen said looking at Anthony. She was glad to be able to hold him again.
"Me too," AJ said smiling at her.
"Okay ma'am," the officer said walking out of the back room, "Just sign these few papers, and then you can be on your way."
"Alright," Jen said, "Here AJ, hold Anthony for a minute please," she continued passing Anthony to AJ.
Jen signed a few things while AJ looked on. The papers she signed stated that Nick had taken Anthony forcefully and without permission. It slightly broke her heart to sign all this, but she knew that it was the right thing to do. What hurt her the most was the Nick probably didn't care at all.
"That will be all," the officer said as Jen handed him all the signed papers.
"Alright," Jen said taking Anthony from AJ and then headed to leave the station.
           "Excuse me officer," AJ said.
           "Yes sir."
"Would it be possible for me to talk to Nick for a minute? I would really liked to tell him something."
"Alright, come with me," the officer said then motioned for AJ to follow him. AJ followed the officer until they reached a roon where AJ was told to wait.
AJ leaned against the wall. What was he going to say to Nick? It was going to be hard for him to keep his cool knowing what Nick did. He wasn't even sure why he was there at that point. Maybe he just had to get all these things out to Nick.
"Sir," the officer said. AJ walked into the room and saw a now pissed off Nick.
"It's you," Nick said looking at AJ, with hate in his once angelic blue eyes.
"Yeah look," AJ said holding back his almost over whelming anger, "tell me why you did it. Why did you take Anthony? Just why everything."
"Jen? She was nothing, just a pretty little thing that I took to award shows. Jen was nothing but a little fun. Let me tell you, I was never going to keep her around but the bitch got pregnant."
"You make me sick," AJ said totally disgusted by what he was hearing, "You're not a man, and with that way of thinking, you never will be."
"Say what you want, but she desirved everything I gave her. Every insult, every punch, everything."
"No she didn't Nick, she desirves the most respect from you or any so called 'man.' Trust me Nick, this isn't the end of this," AJ said storming out of the room.
AJ stormed throught the police station pissed off. He drew a lot of attention as he made he way to the parking lot where Jen was waiting.
"Where were you?" she asked, sure that she already knew the answer.
"I went to talk to Nick," AJ said getting into the drivers seat.
             "What did he say?"
"A lot of shit, that's all," he said and drove off.
