*~*~Later that night*~*~
Nicole spent the whole day with Josh and Steven. It surprised her how well Josh had taken to Steven, she hadn't expected to meet someone to take to her son, especially so quickly. She knew that she was very lucky and that there weren't many people like Josh.
Josh was perfect in Nicoles mind and she wasn't going to let him go like she so stupidly did with Nick. He was going to be around for her and her son, no matter what. Steven needed a father figure, someone to look up to and Nicole wanted it to be Josh if it wasn't Nick.
"Well, I better get going," Josh said looking at his watch.
"Josh, again, I just want to thank you, you've done so many great things for me," Nicole said.
"You don't have to thank me. I really like you and I'm doing what I think is right."
"I'm really glad that I let Kelly talk me into going out with you."
"Yeah, me too," he said and smiled at her.
"So when can I expect to see you again?"
"How about me and you go out tommorrow night? Just the two of us."
"Alright."
"I'll call you and set everything up."
"Ok talk to you then," she said.
"Great," he said and leaned in and tenderly kissed her on the lips. She smiled and shut the door as he began to walk away. Nicole went straight to the phone to call Nick to see what he needed to talk about.
"Hello?" he answered.
"Hey Nicky! Its Nicole," she said.
"Hey Nicole," he said.
"So what did you need to talk to me about eariler?"
"Nothing, I handled it."
"Well, can you at least tell me what was bugging you?"
"It was just......... never mind."
"No, what is it?"
"Remember how I told you I was seeing someone?"
"Yeah."
"Well, I really like her and I wanted to make sure that it was okay with you."
"It's fine, I really like the guy I'm seeing."
"Thats great," he said trying to act happy for her. He was slightly heartbroken. He wanted her to tell him how much she loved him and that he was everything to her, but she didn't.
"Yeah it is," she said as a silence fell between them.
"I'm glad that we can still be friends," Nick said trying to break that silence.
"Me too Nick."
"Her name is Stacy, shes pretty cool."
"Cool, the guy I'm seeing, his name is Josh, hes going to college here in New York."
"College man huh?"
"Yeah, its different, but its a good different, you know what I'm saying Nicky?"
"Yeah I do cause its the same with Stacy," he said. Nicole was glad that they were both able to see other people and talk about it to one another. Just as Nicole was about to say something, Steven started crying.
"Is that a baby?" Nick asked confussed. Nicole wasn't sure what to do.
"Yes," she said.
"Why is there a baby at your house?" How was she going to explain this to Nick? Should she tell Nick the truth while she had the chance or should she continue to live the lie that she had been living for more than a year.
"I'm baby sitting," she suddenly said. After she said it, she instantly regreted not telling him, again.
"Oh," he said.
"I'm going to let you go so I can see whats wrong with him," she said. She couldn't believe what had just happened.
"Alright, I'll talk to you later," Nick said.
"Yeah, bye." Nicole hung up the phone and looked at Steven.
"Baby, why did you have to go and cry on me?" he just kept crying, so when went over to the play pin and picked him up.
