"You ready to go?" Josh asked Nicole smiling an unusually large smile then he usually smiled.
"Yeah."
"Great lets go," he said taking her hand.
"So, where are we going tonight?" Nicole asked walking out to his car. Josh just looked at her and smiled.
"You'll see."
"Come on tell me!" she said and smiled.
"You're just going to have to wait."
"Josh!!!" she winned.
"What??" he asked playfully.
"Tell me!"
"No dear, you're just going to have to wait."
"Fine!" she said and smiled at him. It wasn't very often she got to be playful so she usually unleased all her playfulness on Josh. He smiled back at her. He had a really big surprise in store for her and he just hoped that the night went as planned.

Nick sat back on the chair in his livingroom. He sighed, why did he have to choose between Nicole, who yeah he was still very much in love with was his best friend, but Stacy, he loved her too and he wanted to have her in his life. Why did she react the way she did Nick thought to himself, shes can't be jealious, shes not that type.
He needed to talk to someone. But who would know what to do? He figured that he may as well call Brian, maybe he could tell him something that would help him out. He waited as the phone rang.
"Hello?" Brian answered.
"Bri, this is Nick."
"Hey Nick wassup?"
"Man look, I'm gonna get straight to it. Stacy wants me to chose between her and Nicole. I know it sounds werid, but I still feel like I'm connected to Nicole some how. I mentioned this to Stacy and she freaked, now she wants me to decide who I want in my life more."
"First of all, you don't tell another girl, especially a girl like Stacy, that you still feel 'connected' to your ex. Dumb move buddy. You do know that if you decide to stay with Stacy, you have to completely give up Nicole. Cut all ties and move on. I know that you're probably not ready to do that even though its been more than 2 years. If you decide that you want to stay friends with Nicole, maybe you can still be friends with Stacy and try a relationship when you feel that you are completely over Nicole."
"So, I can tell her that I'm not going to pick one of them so I want them both in my life as friends?"
"Yeah, but Stacy might not like that. At this point, you are going to have to decide who you are more willing to risk losing. Nicole or Stacy?"
"Thats just it, I don't want to lose either of them."
"Look, you can't have them both either. I know you still love Nicole other wise you would be with Stacy right now. I also know that you love Stacy because if you didn't you wouldn't have risked hurting Nicole to be with her and you two wouldn't still be together if you didn't care about her. Right now, you have to decide who you love more and want to be with more."
"I don't really know what to do. If I pick Nicole, I'll have to sit back and wait until she and this guy call it quits, and who knows how long that can be. If I pick Stacy, I lose one of my best friends. One of the only people that I have ever trusted."
"Nick look, I honestly have no clue what I should tell you. I mean I know you want to have them both in your life, I can understand why this is hard. I know that you and Nicole are good friends and you shouldn't have to give up that friendship, but I know you can't go around being alone all the time."
"So, what are you saying?"
"I'm saying, you have to do whats best for you. If that means waiting for Nicole, then wait. But, if that means forgetting about Nicole to be with Stacy, then thats what you have to do."
"This hard."
"Look, talk to Nicole. See how she feels about this maybe she could give you better advice considering shes part of this."
"Shes out with her boyfriend," Nick said, the word boyfriend sounding strange because Nick wasn't used to it.
"Oh. Well then you need to keep thinking. Hopefully you'll make the best decision for you."
"Yeah, thanks."
"Bye," Brian said as Nick hung up the phone. Why did he have to give either one of them up? Why did Stacy have to be like that. He and Nicole were only friends and that was it. He hadn't even seen her in forever so what was the problem?
