Chapter 21
*~*The Next Morning~*~
Nicole looked at herself in the mirror. Her wedding was about to take place and there was still no sign of Nick. She really want him to be there but she wasn't surprised that he wasn't because of what happened the night before. If she was him, she probably wouldn't show either. To find out that you have a two year old child wasn't easy. She could believe that she was pregnant when she was.
She just wished that Nick could forgive her and still be friends. If he didn't want that, then she would understand, but she just hoped that he and her would be able to get through this as friends. Nicole was nervous, she was really unsure if what she was doing was right. She wanted to be with the both of them, but she had to decide who she wants to be with more. In her mind, she was telling herself to be with Josh because of all that he went through to get here and buy the house. It wouldn't be right to just leave.
A knock soon came at the door. She sighed. She didn't want to talk to anyone right now. This was something that she had to figure out for herself, she had to decide what to do on her own because she was going to have to live with the out come. Another knock soon followed.
"Who is it?" she asked and let out a loud sigh.
"Me," her mother said opening the door, she smiled at Nicole, "You look beautiful."
"Am I doing the right thing?" she asked, not sure if she should have done that because her mother was going to tell her not to marry him and part of her wanted to run, but there was a part of her that wanted to stay, she needed some guidence.
"You're probably just upset about Nick and last night. I bet you're feeling kind of quilty about it. The fact that you two fought didn't help either."
"So thats what you think it is?"
"Yeah, I think as long as you and him are mad at each other you are going to feel bad about this. You two were really close, I know."
           "Thanks for that."
"No problem," she said with a half smile. Nicole knew that she was only trying to ease her mind. She didn't want her to get married to Josh. She wanted her to be with Nick, she could tell, otherwise she wouldn't have brought him up to talk to her. She took one last look at Nicole and left. Nicole looked at herself in the mirror again, she knew that this should have been her and Nicks day, but it was too late now.
Nicole sighed, she was confuessed as to what she wanted to do now. She just wish that Nick was there, he was always telling her the right thing to do and she missed that. The reason that Nick wasn't there, was her fault. She was the one that made a mistake and didn't tell him about his son. She could understand why he was mad at her. That was something that she should have told him and she knew that.
Just then, a knock came at her door. It has to be Nick she thought, he was the only one that would have a reason to come back to where she was. She ran up to the door and opened it, she felt her heart drop when she saw that it was her mother again. Her mother stood there and smiled at her and took a deep breath.
"It's time," her mother said and smiled.
"Ok, I'm coming," she said and took a deep breath as she walked out of the room in which she was in and headed to the main room. She could feel her fear beginning to rise. In her heart she knew that this was wrong, but it took her too long to figure that out. She was just going to have to go through with this. It was probably just cold feet, she was just really nervous, thats all. It wasn't like she didn't love Josh.
Finally, she reached the main room and she was about to marry Josh. She soon started to walk into the room as the music began to play. Nicole looked around the room searching for Nick, but there was no sign of him. She was upset by the fact that he wasn't able to forgive her and come to her wedding. If she was in his position, she would go to his wedding.
She soon reached the end of the asile. When she arrived there and looked Josh in the eye, she knew that this was wrong. What was she supposed to say? This was supposed to be a special day for him, she didn't want to ruin it for him. But how was this going to effect them in the long run. They probably wouldn't have a very close relationship, at least not compared to the one that her and Nick have always had.
Josh smiled at her, he looked so happy. She knew that he was, she could feel that he was. He didn't have to say anything. As she stood there and looked at him as the room full of people looked on. Everyone seemed to be more excitied about all of this then she was. This was a mistake, as she was about to say something, the minster began to speak, she couldn't stop him now she thought that it was too late. The minster began to recite the traditional words before the vows were to be read.
"If someone as a reason as to why these two should not be wed, speak now or forever hold your peace," the minster said and paused and waited to see if there was an answer.
"Wait!" Nick said as the door flew open. Nicole quickly turned around and smiled when she saw that Nick still loved her, "I can't let you marry him Nicole, because I still love you more than anything." Nicole turned to look at Josh who was just standing there, totally shocked.
"I'm sorry, but I want to be with Nick," Nicole softly said to Josh as she walked over to Nick, he smiled relived that she didn't put up the fight that he thought that she would. When she got to Nick she put her arms around him and hugged him tight.
"I love you," she whispered to him as she felt him hug her back.
"I love you too," he said holding her tight.
*1 year later*
"Are you ready?" Nicoles mother said looking at Nicole in her wedding dress. Her smile showing excatly how happy she was. Nicole turned to look at her mother and she returned her smile.
"Oh yeah," she said as her mother laughed at her excitement.
"Alright then, lets go," her mother said and watch has Nicole practically skipped down the hall towards where she needed to be. At that moment Nicole couldn't be any happier. Then the music began to play, unlike last time, she knew now that she was doing the right thing. Her life was going to be filled with love and joy. She was marrying the right man now, Nick.
She soon began to make that all to familiar jounery down the asile. Unlike last time, she knew that she was making the right choice, she was marrying the right man. With the audience filled with familiar faces, she felt great. She was about to begin her life with the man she wanted to spend it with in the first place.
Soon Nick was looking at Nicole, totally amazed that this was finally happening. He was almost sure that it was never going to happen. Nick was just glad that he got up the nerve to go inside and stop it. He thought that he was going to get too scared, he was glad that he didn't. He could never imagine his life without Nicole. This was without a doubt, the happiest day of his life.
In a matter of moments he and Nicole would be married and he would be with her forever and he would have his son in his life no matter what. This would totally amazing to him. He and Nicole had a better relationship now, then they ever had. That seemed unreal to him because he knew that they were close before that.
Nicole was soon only inches away from him, she smiled at him and he returned her smile. At that moment he was the happiest that he had even been in his whole life. Even happier then all the times he had performed on stage which was his dream come true. He was totally amazed about how perfect this was. At that point, he felt like Nicole and him were the only people on the planet.
"You may now kiss the bride," the minster said. It was hard for Nick to believe that they were married, but he was loving every second of it. As he and Nicole headed out of the church, they were greated by loud cheers and applause. Everyone knew just how happy and perfect they were going to be.
*Later that Night*
"Nick," Nicole said as he walked into their bedroom.
"Yeah?" he said looking at her, still happy that she was with him. He was never going to let her go again.
           "I'm pregnant," she said smiling.
"What?" Nick said shocked, "You are?"
"Yeah," she said nodding her head. He ran over to her and picked her up and spun her around the room. She laughed at his reaction. She was glad that he was ok with this.
           "I love you," he said.
"I love you too," she said hugging him tight. She had known that she was pregnant for the past few days, but she wanted to wait to tell him on their wedding night because she thought that it would make the night more special.
