Season 2000A News

March 21st, 2000 - Fell in seventh game against St. Louis Bluedougs in first round of the playoffs.  Have sent list of protected players to RFPHL for next season's draft.  Overall, we had a pretty good year.  Most expansion teams don't make the playoffs.  I took out some old news and have separated the rest with OLD NEWS banner.  Otherwise, there will be no changes until the beginning of next season.

March 16th, 2000 - Final Stats of the season has been posted on the StarsStats site.  Our beloved Ken Stars finished 5th in the conference.  Check out the RFPHL site for playoff info.

February 14th, 2000 - Latest update has the Ken Stars in 10th Place? Behind the Preds, of all teams.  My record since the All-Star game is 3 Wins, 3 Losses, & 2 ties.  Why did we even play?  I haven't been this disapointed since I watched the Ben Stiller snooze-fest "Mystery Men".   Interestingly, we did tie the Drunks.
The Preds game is coming up this week.  Looking forward to Turtle soup.

February 1st, 2000 - Congradulations to Joe Burton & Steve Yzerman for making the Season 2000A All-Star Western Conference Team.   Marco Cefalo was rather miffed, apparently being the leader in penalty minutes is not a qualification.
Updated stats page.  And, at this time, the Ken Stars have fallen to 8th place in the conference. Still in the playoff hunt, though.
Cefalo promises revenge against Preds Lawrence in next match-up.

December 19th, 1999 - Final roster adjustment as Dave Ellet gets
the boot in favor of 6' 6" 200lbs Hall Gill.  Gill is 6 points better that Ellet and a
heck of a lot taller.  Women love him and goons want to be like him.

December 12th, 1999 - A day that will live in...hey, that's not right.
Formation of the Dallas Ken Stars including final (well, sorta final) roster for the team. It seems that one of my players decided to retire?! before travelling to Dallas.  Can't say I blame him.
Anyway, the backbone of the Ken Stars is goalie Buck Naked.  From what I understand, he is the first franchise goalie in RFPHL history.  Why a goalie?  Well, why not.  I wanted to emphisized power and defense on my team.  And what better way to do it than with the "Aussie Nightmare".
C Steve Yzerman is a welcome addition and should prove to be the best offensive threat the Ken Stars have.  RW Joe Burton comes up from the minors (CHL) to assist Yzerman.  But he'll need to wear extra pads because at 170lbs, he's the lightweight of the bunch.  D Jason Woolley leads the defense with a trio of heavys (Belak 223lbs, Pushor 225lbs, & Souray 235lbs!) in support.
6' 6" 225lbs Peter Worrell Is the somewhat inept (his rating is only 53), yet powerful Left Wing whose sole job may be to pound & punish those foolish enough to stand in his way.
