Two Treatises of Government

Once a man named John Locke changed the world. When Sir Robert Filmer wrote a book declaring the divine infallibility of kings, which he claimed could be found in the Bible, John Locke was incensed and answered in the first of his Two Treatises of Government.
He started in the book of Genesis and went from book to book showing that Filmer's theory was bunk. It was not in the Patriarchs, it was not in the Kings, it was not in any of the covenants, or promises, or inheritances. John Locke proved that there is no basis for any man to usurp authority over any other man ever. Furthermore, Sir Robert Filmer is a fraud who only wrote such things because he hoped to receive something from the King.
Today we have many modern counterparts of Sir Robert Filmer, but what we need in Washington is men who believe, like John Locke, that all men have a God given right to be free.
