Catlyn was moving to the music the minute the four of them entered the club. This was her passion - music and dancing. Dylan grinned at Kyndall and Chase as he followed Catlyn out onto the crowded dance floor.
"Your friend is quite the attention seeker," Chase smiled as he and Kyndall sat down.
Kyndall laughed. "Something like that, yeah."
"Does she have a boyfriend?" he asked, eyeing Catlyn and Dylan.
"Umm…no," Kyndall shook her head. "She's…she doesn't want one right now."
"And you?" Chase asked softly.
"Do I want one?" she laughed.
Chase smiled. "Do you have one?"
"No, no I don't," she replied suddenly nervous again.
"Well, that's certainly a bonus in favor of me. I'd hate for some psycho boyfriend type to come busting up in here and kicking my ass," he winked.
Kyndall laughed. "No worries there," she smiled. "So umm…how bout you?"
"A boyfriend?" he grinned. "Yeah. He's a real tough looking biker type guy."
"Ahh, so you're the diva in the relationship?" she teased.
"Exactly," Chase chuckled.
"Do you have a girlfriend?" she asked.
"Are you kidding?" Chase asked in shock. "Bob would get jealous," he grinned. His smile slowly faded as he got very quiet. "Seriously though. Ummm…no, I don't have a girlfriend. We…broke up about two weeks ago.
"I'm sorry," Kyndall said looking away.
"Don't be," Chase replied softly. "Wanna dance?" he asked as the song changed.
"Sure," she smiled as she stood up.
"You like this don't you?" Dylan asked as he danced close to Catlyn.
"What's that?" she asked.
"Dancing."
"Yeah," she smiled, turning around to face him.
"You're good at it," he noted.
"Not too bad yourself," she winked. Okay, so maybe that was stretching the truth a bit. In all actuality he looked rather like a buffoon. She couldn't tear her gaze away from the guy dancing smoothly across the room. She had noticed him shortly after they had walked in. She had been racking her brain trying to come up with a polite way to ditch the klutz, but was unable to come up with anything creative.
Catlyn was slightly bummed when a curvaceous brunette slid up next to the guy, and they began dancing closely together. Her disappointment was greater than just a passive interest in the guy. There was something vaguely familiar about him. She couldn't quite place him, but she knew that she had seen him around before. Realizing she was completely ignoring Dylan, she looked at him. "What did you just say?" she smiled, tearing her gaze away from the dark, attractive guy with killer moves.
"I was asking if you had a boyfriend," Dylan asked her as they walked towards the bar. "Bud Ice," he said looking at the bartender.
"And for you?" The guy behind the counter asked her with a smile.
"Umm…frozen lime margarita," Catlyn replied smiling at the bartender. "Nopers. Very single, and not looking to change that anytime soon."
"Ahh. That a hint to back off?" he asked flashing her a smile before taking a swig of his beer.
Catlyn laughed. "No. Not really. You can do whatever you want," she smiled taking a sip of her drink. She looked out across the room. "Just a warning not too expect too much," she grinned as she peeked over at him.
He chuckled. "Got'cha," he smiled. "Well, I'm very single too. But I'm looking," he grinned.
"Obviously," Catlyn murmured taking another drink of her margarita.
"Do I seem desperate?" he asked.
Catlyn laughed. "No. I'm just teasing you," she smiled. "I'll be right back," she said as she walked off in the direction of the restrooms.
