General Poetry A variety of topics under the sun |
Note: These poems are my original compositions. Distribution: Please ask. TWO SADIES (1988) (An English assignment) Young innocent lips kiss old roughened cheeks As the two Sadies greet each other One is old, with age weathering her bones The other, young, the blush of innocence still clinging to her flesh Each are immortal, the other side of the same coin Both are the past … both are the future. TIME (1989) (A rose in a vase) Yesterday is a wilted rose Left to rot in an ornate vase Today is a full blooming rose Set in the midst to color and shine Tomorrow is a delicate rosebud Waiting for the rain to escort it to full bloom. PURPLE AND GOLD (1987) (NBA World Champions Los Angeles Lakers) Here comes the purple and gold Streaking down the courts like Zeus’ thunderbolts Champions of the world With purple signifying royalty And gold their reward They are the conquering heroes of the modern world Displaying the grace and skill of the eternal gods. EVIL IN ITS PUREST FORM (1987) (No idea) Somewhere in the depths Lies in evil in its purest form Evil so pure That it rivals total bliss Evil so pure That it becomes someone's goal Its sheer power engulfs Its beauty corrupts Its quiet innocence radiates The devil himself could not have created Such magnifence and splendor Fear cowers in its presence Shadows hide from its form Good cries out in anger It is evil in its purest form.
