Friday 13 July What a day! Today is the day that I left on my candian adventure. Arrived at the Brisbane Domestic Airport to find that our plane has been delayed due to fog surrounding Sydney. Finally a message that we were clear to leave and were still hopeful of catching our connecting flight on to Honolulu. Up in the air and we spent 20 minutes circling above sydney only to be told that there was to much fog and we are dirverted back to Brisbane. "This place looks familiar". Back in Brisbane and we spent a further 3 hours sitting on the plane, pick up some new passangers and off we set. Once in Sydney the real adventure began. first we are still in hope that our plane is still waitng for us, no luck there. Then it is time to go insearch of our bags. The lady at the domestic terminal not to sure where our bags have ended up sends us off to the international terminal to try and sort things out over there and hopefully find our bags. We arrived at the international terminal unsure of where to really go. Decided to follow a guy in front of us who happened to be also in search of his bag. Down to the luggage hold and 'oh my', where did all these bags come from. There must have been over 2000 bags just sitting there unclaimed. So where to start looking. Now I realise why when I was going off to london my brother insisted that i tie a huge pink bow onto my bag. Well I wish I had that pink ribbon now. So many bags and they all looked the same. Auha found one. Now to find one more thinking that because we checked in at the same time you would expect that out bags would end up in about the same place. Not in this life time anyway. My bag located way at the back. Now that we had bags it was just a little matter of seeing if we could get on a flight. Once back to find Aleesha I find she has befriended Wade a Qantas manager who assures us that he will get us onto the flight tomorrow and even takes us to the front of the que and allows us to obtain window seats. How wonderful and his good nature doesn't stop there he also finds us a hotel to stay in that is close to the airport and has free pick up and drop off. We arrived at the Sydney International Motor Inn tired and ready to relax. What better way to relax than pigging out on pizza, gaarlic bread and pepsi. |
