Cana was started at Madonna House in Combermere, Ont. because the pope at the time knew that families were going to need a lot of support in the coming years.  If that doesn’t make you feel important, I don’t know what will!  You are doing God’s work, directly requested by the Pope!

20 years after Cana Colony began at Madonna House, Cana was started in Saskatchewan by Fr. Pat Gorman.

2003 will be our 31st year running.
A safe place where God can work.
       - Families don’t have to worry about worldly cares.
       - Because there is safety, Cana is a place where God transforms
hearts and draws them closer to Him.

Cana Colony gives people an opportunity to come together in Christ’s special presence in a relaxed atmosphere, and to taste life in a communal setting.
        - In today’s hectic world, Cana Colony strives to slow us down and get
in touch with God, our families, and neighbours in a faith community.

Our goal is to give the families whatever support we can.  We do this in a number of ways:
         - Providing a safe and inviting environment
         - Going the distance to serve the families every chance we get.
Cana Staffers are committed
to helping each family slow down
and get in touch with each other and with God.
We believe that the success of Cana Colony is God's, not our own.
We do our best to build relationships with the families
by spending time with them,
being role models for the children,
organizing activities and events that will bring
individual families closer together
at the same time as creating a community
among all those present.
Together with our commitment to the families,
we are focussed on our own personal relationship with God
and with each other in order to create a
Staff Family.
