WRITING PRACTICE FOR YOUR OWN BUSINESS

MEMOS
 

1. Write a memo to your staff about appropriate dress at work. You have noticed that your employees have been getting sloppy about how they dress and you want them to appear more professional.
 

2. Write a memo to your customer service employees about handling customers complaints. Devise a procedure for handling these problems. You want your customers to be happy.
 

3. Write a letter to a company from which you want to buy supplies for your business. This letter should be requesting prices, credit terms, and delivery time lines for the purchases you will be making.

1. Choose five ads looking for employees from want ads from the employment section of the newspaper. The ads you choose should be well written, easy to understand, include a good job description and the qualifications required of the prospective employees. Cut them out and paste them to a sheet of paper. 

On the same sheet, state why you think these are excellent choices.

2. Create a newspaper want ad for employees for your business. You want to attract the best employees for the job. Include the following:

incentives to attract good employees like benefit packages, pay, or bonuses

1. Make up an application form that you will be giving prospective employees for your business to fill out. Design it so that you will get the information that will hel p you decide on the employees you want to interview and possibly hire.
