Edwin's Private Show On June 29, 1999, Edwin held a private show, for contest winners at the Sony Music studios in Toronto. There were a little over 100 people there, and there were just under 1000 entries received. The show was beyond amazing, it was indescribable! They started off by playing Theories (and it was especially amazing, with the heart-beat type sound right at the beginning...and then the curtains opened, and much screaming followed...) I think And You was the next song they played... i don't quite remember the exact order of the songs he played, but i can tell you that he played all the songs off of Another Spin Around The Sun, including Another Drink (which was part of the encore, along with One More Astronaut and Purple Haze {i think that's what it's called...}) he also played two songs that didn't make the cd...one was really bouncy and punky ;) it was fun...another was called Less Than Nothing, i think. He is really amazing live, he puts so much energy into his performance, it's unbelievable. And he really gets into the crowd...at one point, some guy yelled out "HEY EDWIN!" and Edwin's like "Yeah?" then the guy goes "you rock man!" (or something like that) and edwin's like "thanks!" (it was really cute!)
After the show, Edwin asked everyone to hang out for a bit, and as we were leaving, he stood by the door and talked to everyone...of course, when it was my turn, i totally froze, and i couldn't utter anything more than "hi" and "can you sign my scrapbook?" (i already had my cd signed from when i met him in May). then when we left, Jen (the girl who works on the Edwin Online site) handed us a candle (mine was Raspberry Ripple)
I took about 20 pictures of his performance (we weren't supposed to, but i took them with out a flash, so that was ok, but i'm not sure if they turned out.) Hopefully, the pic of me and Edwin turned out, cause every single picture i have with him, one of our heads is cut off...) i'll post the pictures up here, as soon as i get them developed. I also took a pic with Ruben (who's REALLY tall!) he had to duck, so that we wouldn't be cut off in the picture! he's such a doll! :) (and he makes really cute faces when he's performing...)
